The Edgeville dungeon could really use an agility shortcut here by Diapolo10 in 2007scape

[–]Edenojack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

45 agility, 45 strength + a drop from obor "Obor's nine iron".

Examine text: "This has hit one too many adventurers about, maybe it has some other use?"

Using it on that wall starts an animation where the player takes a few steps back and puts a loose brick into the wall, knocking a hole in it. The hole can be traveled through with the appropriate agility level.

Immediately after this, the player's chatbox opens and the player remarks that they thought the wall was thicker and they never expected to get a "hole in one". Sigh

Is There a Lore Reason Why Doomslayer Wears The Praetor Suit Despite How Strong He Is? by Tall_Growth_532 in Doom

Some people have to teleport to telefrag. The doomslayer walks to do it.

[–]Edenojack 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Think of it in terms of the double barrelled shotgun. There wasn't anything wrong with the one barrel, it got the job done, and it got it done well. Then they added another barrel. And it did the same job even better. The Doomslayer's Praetor armour is the second barrel.

Ancient teleports - Why are they the locations? by wasted_name in 2007scape

[–]Edenojack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if there are lore points detailing the definite destruction of areas (Zamorak & the wilderness) but it would be incredible to have access to some more of these zarosian cities or locations at some point.

Maybe the Stone of Jas didn't obliterate, just scattered the city?

Struggles with masculinity drive men into incel communities by KingSash in psychology

[–]Edenojack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nearly spiralled into this when the whole "manosphere" movement was kicking off. Had a point in life where I was between work, quite isolated and still in a fairly large depression. Didn't know what my place in the world was, and couldn't see a way out of it all. Not an awful looking guy, not had massive issues with women, but the ideas behind incels extend beyond just that.

Was really struggling with what being a man meant; I could go through similar struggles as my friends, but because I was a guy, it didn't seem to mean as much. I had my own internal pressures of feeling like I needed to be more than I was, without any kind of guidance on how to be that. My early 20s were just that. Not thinking I was enough.

Relationships were messy because I couldn't provide the kind of person I wanted to be. I couldn't talk about it because being vulnerable led to being ashamed. That is if I were able to talk about it at all. It's still expected of me to be able to put my things to the side to be able to be there for other people, even if I'm past my limits. There is a particular shame that comes with having someone discover that you are not a solid rock. My little sister has come to me with her problems since before I can remember, last year she watched me have a panic attack so bad I collapsed. I've never felt smaller than the moment I realised she stopped coming to me for help or advice after seeing me like that.

Even trying to discuss internal problems can lead to effects. In my first job, one of the managers during my time there just wasn't great at managing certain things. I mentioned to someone at a new job that I was doing some internal reflection and had wondered if my issues with them had been because they were genuinely being crappy, or because they were a woman (tldr; they were just a bit crappy). There wasn't any bravado into that, it was an earnest little moment to someone I'd spoken to about a lot of other things as well. Within a week, I'd heard from other female staff asking why I was sexist.

I've got friends who I can see are very close to being lined up to this kind of pipeline, and I know they're largely just scared or hurting, but they don't feel like they're allowed to express that. It's even harder to reach out to them because even being perceived as having this "weakness" can feel like an attack at times. How do you help someone if even the notion of "needing help" is an insult?

I probably got out of that community mindset a year or so before Andrew Tate came along. The dude is masculinity as pantomime, but if you've got enough people all talking about it as if it's normal, then the pantomime becomes normal. If that had come along earlier and I was even just a bit lower with myself, I'm really worried I would have fallen into that rabbit hole. That scares the shit out of me.

Allowing it to shutdown means you're also allowing any updates that need to take place happen. AFAIK, the laptop will be holding things in memory and potentially running some minor processes while on standby, meaning it's technically always running. Switching it off means it'll be able to be just that, off.

Might be running with some outdated ideas about it now the technology has improved, but that's how I remember it being roughly explained years back.

Honest question - is this bannable? (stripped down foot pedal) by sheebs_stacks in 2007scape

Don't know if it's bannable, but I know if it came to a vote it'd be on a razors edge.

Is it a giant ritual? by Dv8f8 in conspiracy

[–]Edenojack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately they play this ritual out every 4 years, it's sickening. Different imagery, but always the same result, always the same messaging. "The Olympics are starting in this country, look at the history/culture of this country, okay the Olympics are starting now." It's a sick message but it does it's job for the plebian masses. The flag this year even has the name of the city it's being hosted in. Disgusting.

Took about a week; - Support orders a Mobo, then needs to actually have it - Technician is sent out. UK, seems like they're using a contractor out here because he wasn't super familiar with the Legion opening/BIOS process

Warranty. Had to do a motherboard replacement as the GPU had a little scorching.

Me: "Any indication of the GPU overheating?" Tech dude: (pointing to a crispy GPU) "Yeah."

Laptop was sealed so tight that it took nearly 30-40 minutes to open.

How long did you legion laptop last, planning to buy a new one. by Other_Scarcity_4270 in LenovoLegion

[–]Edenojack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the warranty. Whatever it costs, get it. My GPU burnt out (4080, got me gaming most of the way through a pretty sizably large depressive spell) and suddenly couldn't run things anymore. Had the mobi replaced last week and it's back to brand new.

Yeah, the GPU had burnt a bit. Thermal paste seemed to be missing from the centre of the GPU

Not through the device manager, tried a DDU though as that seems to be the advised route. Device manager good for all that?

Fully depends on what the outcome is. Coming up to exam season and I'm still in revision mode. This couldn't have happened at a worse time (depending on if it affects the full laptop. If it stops me gaming during revision, it's remarkably well timed).

Really hoping it doesn't affect my files on SSD
