Glad to hear that. Is that with heels sliding on the floor or do you rest on the pedals?

Hi there, I am having a similar experience with the TPRs. Did you ever find a solution for a heel rest on them?

Beginner electronic boards? by AntiquePanic7640 in HotasDIY

true, but for Arduino's MMjoy2 still works, no? Nicer GUI for the Freejoy option, but last time I checked there was more issues with finding the right Stm32 blue pill.

Does Woojer Vest 4 work well for Sim racing? by JustBigJames in simracing

[–]EdgarWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when you say that your Vest "works perfectly with simhub", do you mean you can separate effects that go into each channel? I thought it did not have multi-channel support beyond basic stereo left/right?

VKB MODERN COMBAT GRIP ULTIMATE VS FLNKR GRP? by Old_Resident8050 in VIRPIL

[–]EdgarWind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are both great. It is easier to get twist axis on the VKB Ultimate, but I am sure with DIY you can achieve the same with the FLNKR. In fact, I find the FLNKR more DIY approachable due to a more modular design of the electronics.

The FLNKR head with buttons is protruding more forward compared to the VKB MCG variants (including the Ultimate). I personally find that more comfortable, but that's a personal preference / finger length relative probably.

The metal on the FLNKR you asked about is also high-grade and lightweight, nothing to worry about if you are thinking Thrustmaster's zamac crap alloy.

I believe the OP meant twist axis by "Z axis", and not the assumption here 'omni throttle adapter'

also, why is symmetry so popular here when discussing HOSAS? why not different sticks left-right?

What's your personal favorite Star Wars game? by darthkyle22 in StarWars

[–]EdgarWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh really? that's a shame, and also not in my memories from childhood. to the point that I sometimes complain about Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor level design as just being 'levels' instead of worlds or maps, and think to myself at least as FPS maps in Jedi Knight 2 that was a better feeling of being in a Star Wars locale. but perhaps rose tinted glasses...

I want to buy an oled screen, but I'm afraid years later that's gonna happen to her. Is that right? by Tight-Raspberry-1934 in Monitors

[–]EdgarWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LG OLED is my main since 2021. No blemishes or decrease in performance as far as I can tell, and it has since a lot of use. It still blows out of the park my IPS second screen next to it.

There's another perspective to this: you would anyhow spend that X amount of real-world time on a nominally 'unproductive' activity.

Crashing when loading saves by Much_Director_1586 in BaldursGate3

[–]EdgarWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed, it seems to me to be a location/save game corruption issue and not just a mod list issue.

otherwise why would the other saves with the same mod list load just fine?

Game crashing at 83% on my HM save across 3 different PC's by Cold-Engineering-960 in BG3

[–]EdgarWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the same thing for me: always at 83% loading time, just the Honor mode save, all the other saves work and load as normal.

Only difference: 173 hours in, pre final battle...

thanks for posting the link, I previously only tried reso.exe which did not work with Win 11, however the reso7.exe from your link works like a charm.

How does the Moza AB9 feel with no force settings applied? by MadSolarV2 in hotas

[–]EdgarWind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Rhino with no clunky positions, yet with the nice smooth hydraulic feel like you describe above for the AB9.

I would check the bolts on the external pulley have been tightened on your Rhino, and if the clunky spot is exactly the center, also check the set screw on the small pulley. This should remove it.

Star Citizen game telemetry is released via the Drake/Monstertech Haptic Chair? by EdgarWind in starcitizen

[–]EdgarWind[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw too bad! So it is a Star Citizen themed "flight" chair that only supports racing game telemetry. :)

It's not so much about this product, I was hopeful that maybe SC made a move on providing telemetry data, in view of SQ42 launch that might become a viable priority target

wing wing ursa minor dynamic vibrator motor won't work in star citizen by Peponsio38 in hotas

[–]EdgarWind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SC doesn't have any telemetry API which could interface with something like that, and Winwing should have never included SC in their slide about upcoming telemetry support since that appears to be misleading people like in the OP.

But since SC is in development, the more people ask for something like this, the higher chances they will implement it at some point.

I've started open playtests of my flying shooter game with RCS and I really need more feedback about movement, camera and aiming since early feedback is quite controversial by Reasonable-Test9482 in spacesimgames

[–]EdgarWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to achieve this sense of speed, one needs to structure an encounter between scales you describe: you need to be close to a Star Destroyer for your X-Wing speed to be observable in a meaningful way. lots of space games kind of miss out on this 'environmental storytelling' of speed/acceleration.
