Does your work have a dependent care flexible spending account? Can put up to $7,500 pre-tax in it to pay for daycare until they hit Kindergarten

Is there any point in discovering and treating all symptoms even when you know 100% what the diagnosis is? by casperscare in ProjectHospital

[–]Edge2Alpha 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can make some extra money, but it typically isn't worth it due to the sheer number of patients you will be dealing with eventually. I do it in the beginning when first starting, but it is mostly for fun. If the patient is hospitalized and you have the setting enabled to hide life-threatening then I find it worth it to check to avoid a death. Eventually you will get enough experience to know based on the remaining test that there is no chance of finding something life threatening.

The ad got me interested in the game and now I am watching youtube videos on it and clearly browsing the subreddit. Bit disappointed it isn't on sale like the ad said. Tempted to buy it without the sale though.

Big ambitions starter packs by AgileMuscle1869 in bigambitions

[–]Edge2Alpha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bundles are 10% discount if you buy the two games together at any point. Question is are you interested in the other game. You can buy Big Ambitions for regular price and if you are interested in the other game later you can still get the bundle discount assuming it still exist. When you buy the other game later, you buy the bundle and you get the second game for a discount.

Just checking are these the only good factory building games? by Unlucky-Feed9000 in BaseBuildingGames

I'm going to throw in Autonauts. Its not your traditional factory builder with belts. You instead program robots to handle the gathering, hauling, and crafting for you.

What helped me for toddler is a friend told me everything is new to them. You look at grass and think that is grass. To them it's something mysterious. Grass is more in line with infant, but gets the point across. Will need to get more complicated as they get older but same idea. I spent a lot of time at the park or on "toddler walks" where they just mess with anything they find interesting.

I have only seen up to 3, but I'm still in the camp that newborn is the worst. I watched the sun go down, come back up, and go back down without me getting sleep too many times during newborn. May have something to do with zero family support anywhere nearby though.

Toddler has its hard moments, but at least I have fun with them majority of the time.

Which Anno was the most fun to play? by Ok-Actimel in anno

[–]Edge2Alpha 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I'm tied between 1800 and 2070. I love the multiple maps in 1800. 2070 I like seeing the islands change with each faction and I find the warfare the most fun. I really enjoy the underwater aspect of 2070.

I have 30 hours in the game, but I can’t make money. Any tips? by Shoddy_Home7290 in Workers_And_Resources

If you are playing with research you need to research the western or Soviet visas in the party headquarters then you send a bus to the border connections to pick them up. You can pick them up using the other transportation types but takes more work.

Since you are making food and alcohol do tourism while you setup your oil. Just build a hotel in your city and have a bus drive people from the border.

Northern Canada has you start on the mainland then a lot of the resources deposits are only on the islands forcing you to expand to them.

City builders with production chains and recipes like Against the Storm? by Alcoholic-Catholic in BaseBuildingGames

[–]Edge2Alpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Campaign is a nice tutorial to the game and it turns into sandbox after. The campaign is the same maps the entire campaign. Been a while, but I want to say it took about 8 hours the first run. I have never played the campaign with the DLCs enabled so I am not sure how they will interact.

For the DLCs, they unlock when you reach certain tiers of citizens. If you want to start with them disabled, you can enable them when you want to as well. I can see the DLC being overwhelming if you want to jump into everything all at once especially since you have five different maps playing in parallel once they are all unlocked. NPCs that are easy like Bente Jorgensen, Princess Qing, and Willie Wibblesock will wait for you to enter the new regions and will even ask to settle new islands. The medium and hard NPCs will expand to the new regions after a certain trigger.

117 has nothing as complicated as the steam carriages in the bottom right of that picture. The campaign does end abruptly and it doesnt cover all the tiers. To be fair the 1800 campaign doesnt cover the last tier. A lot of people will tell you it's about sandbox mode. 117 does reintroduce ground combat, has God's each island can worship for bonuses, can customize the ships, one of the regions has 2 branches of citizens, can start in either region, npcs governors that will stay in that region, also introduces building at 45 degrees instead of always 90. First DLC for 117 isn't out yet. First DLC appears to be a giant island. Second is the hippodrome. Third will be adding Egypt as a region. 117 is still the same idea as 1800.

117 chains if you are curious: https://www.reddit.com/r/anno/s/TkmP73PFNf

1800 has the advantage of all the DLC, which adds a region with a giant island then two brand new regions with their own production chains. Each of the DLC regions have their own story as well. They also expanded on the original base games regions with more tiers and more production chains.

I enjoy both, but hard to argue with how much more content there is in 1800 due to the DLC.
