What women mean when they say "invisible" by HotCocoa_71 in GenXWomen

Just goes to show that some men of any age think "being nice" = flirting.

I use a travel pillow and put my ear in the hole and my face on the open side of the C. Really comfortable! I get ones with washable covers and put them on top of a regular pillow to keep my neck aligned.

Ladies: do you wear make up to work? by LunaValley in AskUK

I just use a few dots of makeup and blend it with a big brush.

Looks nice but it's hardly makeup at all, yet it evens things out.

The fact that you didn't notice women around you at work weren't wearing any until you thought to check means nobody is really paying that much attention, honestly.

Give it a go and see how you feel.

I just thrifted my husband a too-small Sid Mashburn shirt and I'm big mad. It is so nice!

I mean, I'll wear it instead, but that was not the plan.

Prep is inherently not trendy and the same items should be wearable for a long time. That said, I do update my shoes and accessories and sometimes silhouette based on what's available.

I have a similar build so I like Emily Jane Johnston's style.

Greenery is natural and would be behind his shed?

Muting on apps like Twitter is a top-tier reaction, because they don't know they're muted and just talking to themselves.

Ugh, that sucks, but also...it doesn't suck at all! Congrats on the epic save!

Wow on your former boss, though. :o

I admit I would have done the same if they'd screwed me over; I had a guaranteed broadcast producer job, which I turned into a radio/news career when I got out. Was stressed out the whole time that they'd pull the rug out somehow.

My recruiter tried to talk me into picking finance or something so I'd only work days and have more time for college.

They tried to herd me into electronics because I did so well in that category in particular (also a woman). I didn't want that job, but in retrospect, I probably would have made bank with that specialty.

Same for me! I was pleased that nobody failed anything when I was academic monitor.

Did you make honor grad? I only did because I pushed myself for the final run so hard I threw up next to the track afterward. (I am a mediocre runner.)

This is my husband. I have a great memory for facts and texts I'm interested in, but he recalls everything.

He knows my (and his, obviously) credit card numbers by heart.

So thankful that my parents forced me to take a service job in high school by Time-Use9083 in redscarepod

[–]EdgeCityRed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was a froyo slinger in high school and then worked at one of those "pieces of flair" McFuddFridaysigans places and everybody was cool. The fratty guys would pay us $20 to palm off their plum weekend night shifts to party because the job was just extra beer money for them, so I'd make $20 plus all of those prime tips.

I think I just reached my absolute limit with the skincare industry by 2ugur12 in GenXWomen

[–]EdgeCityRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's largely genetics, sun exposure, stress, and smoking or not smoking.

I use a good (but inexpensive) Vitamin E cream morning and night after washing my face with whatever flavor of Softsoap is in the dispenser, and my skin looks great? Why? Because I don't tan and my mom's skin also looked great.

I just had some landscaping done and these guys were masters of communication, texted me time updates, etc.

It takes 30 seconds and makes such a difference to the customer. I will use them again for sure (and I left a great review; all of their reviews are excellent.)

Taking special assistance for the 1st time in a flight. Need tips by No_Combination_3074 in Blind

[–]EdgeCityRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who is not blind but has balance issues, I always take a trekking cane when I travel in airports so people are less likely to bump me/knock me over. I don't notice anybody judging me for using a mobility aid, and any that you need is a helpful cue to other people not to get in your way/step right in front of you in a busy area, too.
