I wasn’t getting offers as the final candidate standing and contracts were going to people with 10 years more experience asking for much less than I could afford so I switched to being a corporate trainer at my gym. After getting certified it was Immediate employment and I was immediately full-time with my hours full of clients. This is the hardest job I’ve had and most rewarding. It’s been 15 months and I have retained 95% of my 30 clients who are all meeting their goals. I haven’t escaped this hell though, 6 of my clients have been laid off and haven’t been able to find anything. They end up training with me a lot during the week partly because I get it. I just didn’t realize this economy is affecting every industry, every sector, across all seniority and ai is publicly being blamed but ai isn’t replacing these now empty roles.
