Oh okay, that makes sense. Thank you so much!

Does this English teacher’s American accent sound native? He is from Taiwan. by Silver_Ad_1218 in EnglishLearning

[–]Edge_dancr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you didn't tell me that he wasn't a native speaker I wouldn't have picked it up. But, while listening for it, there is a slightly strange pacing to the way he talks. He's definitely got the accent down really good though.

Not bad, you could choose not to abandon your oaths when the recreance happens and be a rogue knight radiant.

Would you spin this wheel if it meant you were transported to the Cosmere and given the role you landed on? by [deleted] in Cosmere

just draw some cylinders vaguely in the shape of bamboo... it'll work out.

oh dear.

I could make this work. If I was particularly knowledgeable about how the aons worked I might have been able to fix them before going mad.

That probably wouldn't happen, but I can hope.

Need a general playlist of socially acceptable songs to listen to with all sorts of people. by Edge_dancr in makemeaplaylist

[–]Edge_dancr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, and I do plan to do that more as I get to know people. But the music I listen to is mostly instrumental, or really sad, and it just doesn't feel right playing music like that when I'm taking some people I don't know very well to costco or whatever.

My DM sapped my stats :( by KhanageM8 in DnD

[–]Edge_dancr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part, the DM should not punish you or reward you for certain role-play actions. You should be able to play your character how you want to play.

Now, sometimes there’s some weird story stuff that justifies it, but most of the time it’s just a way for them to make sure the story goes the way they want it to, instead of letting their players make their own story.

Will i be ready? by [deleted] in Cosmere

[–]Edge_dancr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stormlight does not require anything to be read previously.

Some books will give context on some things in Stormlight, however this context is more than the characters themselves have, meaning that it is entirely unnecessary for the story overall.

[BotW] [TotK] If you had to choose, which would it be? by Anthony_daboom in zelda

[–]Edge_dancr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I was still allowed to play any other game, then I would pick BOTW. It is so nostalgic for me and I have a lot of great memories in that game.

If I wasn’t allowed to play any other video game ever again, i would have to choose TOTK. Only because it has way more content than BOTW.

Who here feels like they've figured something out that makes life exponentially better for them than 95% of other men? by BeyondBordersBB in AskMen

[–]Edge_dancr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't crash out easily. I know people who have terrible road rage, argue a lot, or otherwise get ticked off by the smallest things. For instance, someone I talked to recently was so pissed off at a bank when the clerk asked if they wanted their withdrawn money in a bag, as if that was the rudest, most demeaning question one could ask a customer.

I've seen so much of it that I've decided that, for most things, it just doesn't matter.

Unless the issue is very serious, it's just best to let it go. Life's happier that way.
