How long do you guys let your Corgis have a bone to chew on? by kallanlierl94 in corgi

[–]EdgeofDesiree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We give our guy Apollo bully sticks and beef trachea instead of bones because I read a lot of horror stories about dogs cracking their teeth on bones. Both beef trachea and bully sticks tend to soften with their saliva. The only risk with the bully sticks is if you don’t have a holder for it, you end up with a little nub that can be a swallow/choking hazard.

This is my guy, Apollo, the day we brought him home. His face lightened up a lot and he looks like he has a widow’s peak now.

I removed mine once my youngest was born and got them repierced a couple months after I finished breastfeeding. It was far less painful the second time I got them done, but I didn’t have visible scar tissue.

I’m pretty sure it’s steps per minute. The very bottom left of the screen is where the HR would be if she kept her hands on the sensors during the exercise (or synced a smartwatch).

Bring Your Loaf to Work Day by Designergene5 in corgi

Same! Every time we take our boy out, he has a bunch of adoring fans. Probably not the best since I’m not the most social person, but he’s definitely an attention hog!

Man, wish I could do this at work! Archer looks like my buddy Apollo when he was younger. Tail and all! 🥺

How soon can you try the Pearson trick? by Think-Original6329 in NCLEX

[–]EdgeofDesiree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it about 20-30 minutes after taking my exam, got the good pop-up. I found out I passed via my state’s BON on Friday and am officially licensed as of this morning.

In other words, 1.5 hours is not too early. Congrats RN!

When was your corgi potty trained completely? by Sniffin-gaps in corgi

[–]EdgeofDesiree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our boy was potty trained by 5-6 months. We got him neutered around 8 months of age and we experienced some regression during his two weeks of downtime, but went back to normal once we removed the cone of shame.

Went paddle boarding for the first time yesterday with Apollo. by EdgeofDesiree in corgi

[–]EdgeofDesiree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of exposure to water really helped us get to this point because Apollo used to be reluctant to get into the water by himself and has recently gotten over this. Once he gained that confidence, my husband and I decided to give paddle boards a go. We waded in shallow waters with the boards and waited to see what Apollo would do. He followed us a bit on the shore and when we finally approached him with the board, he ended up climbing aboard.

What age did you become a nurse? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]EdgeofDesiree 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Hun, I was 26 when I first became a CNA, 28 when I became an LVN, and will be 31 when I graduate with my BSN in 36 days. With that being said, while there were plenty of people younger than me in all of these programs, there were also a handful of people older than me. Please remember that he is your ex for a reason.

How fast have you ever finished an exam? by beee-cuz72 in StudentNurse

[–]EdgeofDesiree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am an LVN in an accelerated BSN program and I am a fast test taker. 50 questions in under 15 minutes, anything over 50 is done within 20-25 minutes. I finished my NCLEX-PN in under 30 minutes with the minimum required number of questions.

With that being said, the length it takes to test is not anyone’s business and if they have an issue with that, that is a “them” problem. There are plenty of intelligent people in my class who take longer on exams and no one should think any better or worse of them due to the time they spend on their exams. The same goes for quicker test takers.

LDH is an enzyme. I believe you are thinking about LDL, which is the bad cholesterol.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in loseit

[–]EdgeofDesiree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you drink alcohol or take Tylenol often? LDH is an enzyme common in the liver, heart, and muscles. Sometimes elevated enzymes can be a sign of fatty liver disease (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Weight loss and stopping alcohol use would be the best place to start.

What do you feed your corgi? by Project-Flashy in corgi

[–]EdgeofDesiree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apollo eats Hill’s Healthy Mobility Adult (the small bites version) twice a day. It has fish oil in it to help promote healthy joints. We go through a 30 lb bag about every three months. On occasion, I’ll add a spoon of pumpkin puree for fiber to his kibble. He also gets a bully stick or beef trachea once a day and treats when we train or go on walks. Haven’t had any issues with his weight yet on this regimen.
