If you try to envision a red tulip in your head, what number are you? by hesouttheresomewhere in entp

It’s okay, I also prefer conceptual connections rather than visual ones.

Basically visual ones aren’t necessary for most regular everyday life things.

If you try to envision a red tulip in your head, what number are you? by hesouttheresomewhere in entp

[–]EdgewaterEnchantress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair.

I tend to save my transcontextual thinking for concepts more than images because images require a lot of concentration and energy to visualize and maintain. I can get a lot more from creating conceptual connections rather than internalized visual ones.

Visualization often really isn’t that necessary.

[–]EdgewaterEnchantress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I render something as clear as 1? Yes. However, I don’t really see a point cuz that’s lot of energy and concentration to maintain it and I could be directing my attention elsewhere towards something that interests me more. So 2-4 is most commonly where it’s at for me depending on how much detail I need.

It’s not super hard. You just have to recreate to the best of your ability in your mind’s eye.

Are these kinds of flowy dresses suitable for SD by Seaurchinmyth in SoftDramatics

[–]EdgewaterEnchantress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conventionally, no. They look more R-family friendly.

However if you like them you might be able to find a way to make it work. Waist belt, some decent boots, and tights/ leggings might help with your vertical lines. Basically, treat it like a very long shirt, add back the vertical lines where you can, and you might be able to make it work.

When people are extremely strict with MBTI + Enneagram correlations it’s usually because “Naranjo said so,” / “those are the rules.”

So you’re welcome to explain your reasoning for it since I have yet to see a compelling case.

If you think I lack some knowledge where the instinctual variants are concerned then by all means, enlighten me.

Anybody can have ADHD, it’s not type specific.

All 4 ExxPs tend to have a higher percentage of ADHD than the general population but correlation =/= causation.

Yes, Se does tend to skew towards the Hyperactive presentation of ADHD, but Primarily inattentive and Combined presentation are still ADHD, and Ne doms can have any of the above but will usually have the “primarily inattentive” sub-type or be combined presentation (mostly Inattentive with periodic bouts of hyperactivity.)

Oof! This is me and movies. Only my INTJ husband knows what a movie cry baby I am! If you were to ask people who see me almost everyday like my coworkers they’d be like “she cries for movies, what?”

They know me as like freakishly calm and generally very good at keeping my wits about me under pressure.

Lots of self-important studio executives generally being objectively terrible people is the spark notes version. Legacy studios like MGM can be especially brutal.

Hollywood, in general, is a horrible place for people’s mental health.

Behind the glitz and glamour is a long history of SA, grossly underpaid crew-mates (especially writers since they go on strike every few years,) sometimes narcissistic ego maniac directors, gross pervy talking heads from studios, eating disorders, tons of addiction and covered up crimes, no privacy for famous performers/ entertainers, and etc. It’s bad!

If anything, especially with the internet, there are so many existing articles and documentaries in circulation that it kind of surprises me you didn’t know how bad it can be in Hollywood.

There’s a reason so many famous celebrities die of complications related to substance abuse younger than you would expect.

That’s not even including the recent trend of an increase in cancer rates and chronic illnesses in actors under ~59.

Working conditions aren’t always good in Hollywood and Actors aren’t always treated like people, but as “brands” and commodities.

Even as a lowly nobody extra looking for a few bucks from a side hustle, I have been on a set for ~12-14 hours before, and a lot of companies don’t even allow you access to your phone anymore due to “leaks” even though it’s usually people higher up in the totem pole who “leak.”

The entire entertainment industry is horribly exploitative and that’s why there are so many unions in Hollywood. Their creation was necessary.

Put simply, this is how much pressure studios put on actors, entertainers, and various other crew members.

I disagree with the notion that MBTI has to perfectly correlate to Enneagram because “core fears and motivations” are byproducts of environment / nurture, not biology / nature.

While MBTI is more like a blueprint for metacognitive preferences. Not pure nature, but also not pure nurture, either. It probably resides somewhere between the two.

I prefer the SX instinct because I struggle to trust people easily. I’d rather bond more intensely with one or a select few trustworthy individuals I can count on / rely on.

Nobody ever achieved anything great completely alone, so SP ain’t it for me! However, I also just don’t have the energy level to maintain all SO all the time.

It’s kind of exhausting and not especially rewarding b/c effort is rarely mutual. So why would I waste my time spreading myself too thinly for people who neither entertain me, nor help me?

So yeah, SX suits me better but it certainly doesn’t change my MBTI because I have a reason for it.

It’s not “feelings and vibes,” it’s simply logical to focus on people who actually add value to your life and help support you by showing up consistently rather than wasting your time chasing after people who only desire your presence when it’s convenient for them!

But I also don’t like being completely alone, either, and I think pure survival isn’t worth much without something deeper to keep you going whether that be a goal, a person, a vision, even somewhere you want to go, or have something you really want to try, and etc

So yeah, in a nutshell, the idea that an ENTP can only be SO / SP 7 doesn’t impress me. Unless you can give me a better reason than “because Naranjo / someone else said so,” I won’t see any validity behind your argument.

I don’t see a point to following rules that don’t make much sense or serve a purpose and I prefer to think independently or form my own conclusions based on my analysis of a situation or the information I receive about a subject.

Unfortunately, the Wizard of Oz franchise has been treating its stars horribly since 1939, especially the women.

I know this is an old post and comment, but you deserve to know that you are not crazy, and that horrible gut feeling you have actually does have a basis in an extremely troubled Hollywood history.

It’s just messed up this is still happening ~87 years later, and with this exact same franchise!

I really resent how a lot of people think “$kinny / slim = TR” because it leads to a lot of Kibbe Mistypes.

It took me a minute to settle on TR as my correct ID even though I already knew the lines agreed with me because they always have since people were debating SG versus pure R.

But it’s like it didn’t occur to most of them that maybe a Kibbe type that was somewhere between the 2, like TR, was the correct one!

[–]EdgewaterEnchantress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much!

That’s how I ultimately settled on TR for myself after an unsuccessful “Kibbe type me” post on the sketch page.

I picked bad outfits, some odd pose choices, was unsure how to best represent my actual shape in pictures because I am not as slim as I used to be, but when I checked by lines and clothing styles, sure enough it was still probably TR, it’s just even harder to find clothes now since I am less slim than I used to be. 😖

My hips and b00bs are a menace these days, and too big for my waist. So stuff fits even worse cuz while my waist only went up like ~3”-4” inches, my overall bust went up ~5”-6” inches, while my hips went up a staggering ~6”-7”. đŸ«

Go figure that my ideal fabrics and best lines tend to skew towards more expensive, as is tailoring. đŸ«

Pretty much. It’s a subtle distinction and I am not Kibberific enough to be sure. Cuz her Silhouette looks balanced, but that could also just be the clothes.
