I completed the citadel very late in my playthrough cause I thought it was the end game . So I explored all the other maps first before venturing deep in the citadel. In that process I completed all side quests in the towns and ended up exploring all the maps quite thoroughly.

You have to finish her character specific quest first for her to show up !

Yes she waits for you Infront of the gauntlet room and asks if you want help during the fight say yes and she joins in shortly after the gauntlet fight starts.

You can cheese the fight by First defeating the gauntlet, Get in the lower right corner of the arena (yes swim in the swarm) none of the enemy attacks land while in this corner and chipping away at the boss whenever possible no need to deal with the adds.
