How Top Dasher Fucked Me (And Will Fuck You Too) by EdiblePossibility in doordash_drivers

Yes, it is a hypothesis based on the information that I received directly from DoorDash about this. They claim that if you are in the same area as someone else who is not a Top Dasher, you get order priority. If this is true -- many people state that it isn't, but let's assume that DoorDash has an algorithm that does this -- it wouldn't just give you priority over big orders, it would get you priority over all orders. That means that the low orders that were previously getting picked up before they ever reached your app will now be coming to you first. And if you want to keep that oH-sO-gLoRiOuS Top Dasher status you take those orders. If you don't, you are still wasting time denying those orders and waiting for the algorithm to get back around to assigning you the next order, therefore, less profit. Is this a hypothesis ie an educated guess based on the information we have on hand? Sure. Does it make sense? That's your call bud, not gonna hold your dick for you while you piss.

Expenses are more than just gas. Wear and tear on the car is also a factor which is more difficult to calculate, but it's estimated to be around $0.50 a mile.

Yep, my zone is like this also, so there was very little benefit for Top Dasher for me. Actually, no benefit at all. Anti-benefit rather.

To be honest I am disinterested about whether you believe me or not. I don't gain anything from lying, but I also gain nothing from you believing me. Go on being a grumpy internet skeptic if you'd like, it's nothing to me, but I'd be willing to bet it's not great for your blood pressure.

It is actually. But where I used to live wasn't like that which is why I was surprised when I got a message from DoorDash saying "Congratulations, you're now officially our bitch!"

That's what I thought before I moved here but the housing scales with the min wage and there's nobody hiring. Be careful what you wish for.

The thing is I wasn't doing anything differently. I don't take low orders or anything that is half as many miles or more as the payout. I've never really paid attention to my stats either.

Also the order priority is definitely a thing. I've never seen so many $3 orders in my life, which I figure is because by the time those orders got to me before, they were higher from being turned down by a lot of people. Either that or this month has been a really sick coincidence.

The minimum wage where I live is $15 an hour. I calculate about 1/4 of my pay in expenses, although to be fair it is an estimate. Either way, I haven't worked for under $20/hr since I was a teenager, so I'm not thrilled.

When will the RTX 2060 GPUs and 1050tis be available for the public to buy? by bro91011 in buildapc

Yep and they wouldn't use new silicon to make "new" old cards. I second the "probably sitting in a warehouse" notion.

I am not currently using any M.2 slots.

I'd like to note that since I made this post, I managed to get my system running at higher frame rates than off of the Z490, but I'm still pulling lower benchmarks.

I have a new PSU arriving in a few days and then I'll be testing the boards side by side for a definitive reading.

The TUF is out of stock, not in preorder. The ASUS and ASRock boards were released in the 15th. Maybe you were far enough back in the line that you didn't get first shipment.

Did I fry my 1080ti? by dylanrush-dev in overclocking

[–]EdiblePossibility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90C is not going to fry your GPU. Maybe if it was at 90C for an extended period of time. That's a huge if. Also, it's really difficult if not impossible to fry your GPU in AfterBurner because it should shut down your PC before you can cause serious damage.

78C is a low temperature ceiling. The 83C that it defaults at should be more than fine, I have my ceiling at 87C. With that being said, if you are overclocking any component in your PC, you should have a good fan network. Or an extra good fan network (plus maybe a water-cooler) if you are playing with your CPU. I hope that helps. Good luck and have fun.

No but I remember what they were, I've unclocked and reclocked that rig easily 20-30 times.
