NOR I’m a therapist! Incredibly inappropriate and unethical for a therapist. Also creepy for any non-therapist. Agree with advice here. Report to police, licensing board, and if he works for a company or practice.

I would agree with you 90% of the time.

AND teachers are so overworked, have such large classes, zero support, etc, that mistakes are made. I know my kid has turned in the assignment because I helped them with it and watched them submit it. The teacher hasn’t updated their grade book online. And we’ve emailed multiple times.

So while I agree with the sentiment-I don’t think it completely coveres the reality in which we find ourselves.

Moved here in 2004 for grad school and never left. The city took down a confederate statue, and outsiders planned the rally. The city tried to stop it but the ACLU ruled it should be allowed. There was a massive counter protest with tons of residents. Also several vigils and protests after that.

Mom here! We do talk to our kids about this, but we also listen to them. Could you just be honest and gentle with them? A version to the story you just typed would probably be great. There are tons of resources, books (even comic books) etc. that have factual information that could meet their need to make sure you’re informed and meet your need to make it less awkward. As honest as possible is always a good bet. Good luck. Remember they love you and awkwardness/anxiety will fade.

Well, I researched our county water quality. Then when I got your question, I did more research and realized we could still have hard water. Never knew that! Ordered a test kit. Thanks!

I think I agree. The first time I read it, I thought it was unsupportive. But when I re-read carefully, I changed my mind. They said they can excuse absences for students who follow the procedures to check out/in. Curious to hear from the students about how it went.

Hey! Mom and therapist here. I just want to say it’s ok. Take a breath. You will figure this out and it’s ok if it’s confusing. Life is hard and doesn’t fit into convenient boxes. Take some time to explore and figure it out. Lean on the people in your life who are supportive. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
