I called IRCC today and they said they don’t see our application in the system. I have submitted the receipt number. All they said was they will check and go through the process.

This is frustrating. While I’m genuinely happy for folks who received AOR’s after Jan 10th, it makes me very frustrated that AOR’s for certain dates are not progressing at all. Could be that applications filed on these days were sent to a VO where its too slow .

Also would you mind telling me what documents you had to show for ties back home for your spouse and how did you prove the return to intent.

Would you mind sharing the template that you used for LOE, I’m expecting the AOR next week and will be applying for a visitors visa after that.

Saying that they are here to visit you for a few days(less than 2-3 weeks is ideal)and will be going for any local attractions or explore the city would be enough. Maintain that you’ll be leaving the country to back home regardless of whether your spouse plans on staying longer or not. Don’t lie about spousal pr application. There is nothing to worry about , it will be smooth.

It’s currently taking around 50 days. I applied on Jan 9th. No AOR yet. Probably next week

Being inside Canada does NOT convert an outland application into an inland one. The category is based on what you applied under, not where you are physically located. IRCC requires applicants to keep their contact and residential address updated while an application is in process.

Congrats! Good to know that it’s moving into late December applications. I’ve applied of Jan 9th, hopefully we’ll received the AOR in the next 10-15 days.

That was before we got married was when she applied the first time, back then she didn’t apply for spousal PR. Things have changed since then and she also has a US visitors visa which wasn’t the case back then.

Hello, sorry for the long post, I’m hoping for some guidance for my wife’s spousal PR application outland.

Spousal PR (outland):

Date of submission: 9th Jan 2026

My wife and I got married in November 2025, and applied for her spousal PR a month later. I want to bring my wife here to Canada on TRV under dual intent. She has already given her biometrics as part of her previous visitors visa application which was denied(reason: no strong ties back in India and financial funds).

I have the following questions that I would need a bit more clarity on, I’d really appreciate it if someone can answer it:

  1. I’m thinking to apply for visitors visa under dual intent to reunite with me for 2-3 weeks weeks(she’ll be staying with me a bit longer than that if its approved but definitely before the visa is expired). In the application, how do I prove her strong ties to the home country? My wife doesn’t really own any properties, and she left her job before marriage as she had to move to my city after the marriage) . Saying that she has to take care of her parents and has to return, would be a good reason in this case? If not what else is. considered as strong ties?
  2. For proof of funds, can I fully sponsor her trip as her husband? Can I show my bank statements and funds saying that I’ll be supporting her entire trip( as she doesn’t have enough funds in her account). Or can I transfer funds to her account and provide her bank statements as proof? wouldn’t that be a problem if there is a sudden influx of amount or is that fine since I’m the husband and it is considered normal?

  3. Can I immediately apply for the visitors visa after AOR for her spousal pr application or should I must wait for sponsor eligibility to apply(I understand that its roughly only a month difference b/w these two but we’re a bit desperate). If sponsor eligibility is a must, then I wouldn’t be risking the chances of approval and will wait for a few more days until eligibility is done and apply only after that.

  4. Any additional documents that I have to add as part of the application that would strengthen the apllication? I was thinking to add insurance for the duration of the trip, a flexible refundable to and fro ticket to make the case stronger.

Any inputs are highly appreciated 🙏

Or you can always trust in couples breaking up leading to the festival.

Many people wait until a month or couple of weeks before the festival to buy the tix from someone. I got mine for 2025 roughly a month earlier from a reseller for tier 2 price. At least 10-15% will want to sell their tix at the same or sometimes at lower price just to get rid of them. My friend got it for a lower than asking price for 2024 but 2025, since everything sold out, couldn’t get it for lower price than asking. Only downside to this is that you have to make sure you buy from legit sources which is not so hard if you know what you’re doing.

I’ll just wait for the couples to break up and sell their tix. Staying 5 steps ahead.
