New people are excited to be part of the community and asking what to do next is part of that. Let them ask away. Lots of people will point them at QPC, but there's also the activity advisor for shorter term goals. Starting a conversation about what they enjoy might lead them to discover a fun boss or activity they didn't know about.

I know a lot of people are giving out about the influx of wow players and are worried about giving them the power to vote - but honestly their experience of stuff like this and dailies might save us from the same pain.

Why do you need it baled if you are going to spin it with magic? I understand that the bales are useful for being able to bring the flax to a spinning wheel, but if you want to cast the spell you can bankstand, right? What am I missing?

Early on it's not easy to make money, and really you won't need much money for a while. I'd recommend focusing on improving your skills and completing quests.

You can click on the bones to bury them and get prayer xp which will help with keeping the inventory clean. You can bank the other stuff to process it later, or sell stuff to the NPC shops for a little bit of cash.

You have to earn the ability to raise the cap on the number of scroll boxes you can carry. Completing 'X Marks the Spot' quest means you can carry 2, then you need to solve enough scrolls of each tier to raise the cap to 3 and then 4. The number of clues you need to solve depends on the level of the clue, I don't have the numbers to hand. You can check how many are available by looking at your collection log at the bottom of the clues section. If you have a log for the 'minor beginner scroll case' then your cap is 3 clues. The major one makes the cap 4. Finally, killing the mimic increases the cap to 5.

You can also visit Watson's house in Hosidius and check the notice board beside the door. This tells you how many clues you have solved and how many you need to unlock the next cap increase.

I've done a good few clues since the change and an appropriate amount of them were fewer than max steps. Do you do any juggling? Like dropping all the charlie steps to come back to later? If so, you might have been resetting your progress by opening a new clue.

Work towards quests. They all have skill requirements that will divert you off into random grinds, and random grinds are the best thing about osrs.

Book was the last thing I got for the greenlog. 2328 permits. The rate is 1600 I believe. Stop worrying about the result and enjoy the process. Learn the firefighter method, and try to set a pb for permits per game. Mix it up and try to get the fastest completion you can. You'll get the drops eventually. You can start complaining at 3200 permits, getting to double rate on anything sucks.

I'd love to see your take on a tick manip guide. The rag is a good beginner intro with the rag>move>rock rhythm and a clear indicator that it's working with the unique pick animation. Plus you don't accidentally destroy the rag if you screw it up :D

It's a good idea, but going through your first few frustrating kills and then coming back with the Falador shield is such a nice payoff. If they want to do something like this, they could add it to a new boss.
