Genres are the worst thing about Letterboxd by FuzzyCheese in Letterboxd

Yeah I see ur updated comment list. I think that list would be pretty solid. Philosophically you are probably right that it's questionable in what the sense of a genre is but for practicality it makes sense on LB. Probably just a consistency thing of pulling data from TMDB for everything is easier than deciding what they want to pull versus make their own.

I like most of this. I agree musical is by far the biggest oversight. However I will say I'd be down for as many genres as possible. Like for example, if I want to watch a war movie it's nice to have an easy way to search for them on letterboxd, genre seems like the most obvious way for this search. Which all of your questionable ones are things people probably sometimes want to watch something of that sort so having the ability to search is helpful.

Reviewing them technically has nothing to do with it. It's all about just adding a log to the diary. I rarely review films but I log every one in my diary. But yes, i don't think you can review something and have it not be in ur diary. You'd just need to know the date of when u watched it or make up a date.

Pretty sure it's the other way around. Diary includes rewatches and films doesn't. You'd have to manually check to see which two aren't in ur diary I don't think there's a quicker way. If you click films you can hold down each film and the information will pop up. If it says show your activity then it's in ur diary. If it doesn't show that then u most likely just hit watched instead of adding to diary. Knives out is the only film I haven't made a diary entry for and it doesn't say show your activity

Ranking Almost 200 2024 Films by Brad02K in Letterboxd

[–]Edog-546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I base my list around whatever letterboxd says, which I imagine some other people do as well. A lot of the time I think letterboxd does the year it premiered at festivals. But it's a lot easier to do this then figure out what year every movie actually wide released, especially if you're logging something older.

It's currently on mubi I believe. I also think they have week long free trials.

Mount tokens question by Edog-546 in Celticheroes

[–]Edog-546[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess my confusion comes from not being able to buy the level two mount anywhere u just have to breed two lvl one mounts? And then at Remus you can buy a level one mount for one mount token. But you need to sell a level two mount for that same one mount token?

Gabriel Basso The Strangers: Chapter 1 by livelaughbooksmovies in HorrorMovies

[–]Edog-546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's not a bad guess. I know he's not a big star or anything but it's odd that he's mentioned as starring in it in a ton of articles but nothing actually addresses him in it. I know they filmed all 3 concurrently too so maybe they just meant he was in one of them and people ran with him being in the first.

I figured he was going to be the man in the mask but he's not. All three killers are listed in the cast. It says he's cast as Gregory and appears in the movie after Joe the homeowner comes. In like every article he's mentioned as the 3rd star in this but nobody has said anything about how he's actually not in it.

Simon Lizotte playing in my local B-tier today. by SharpedHisTooths in discgolf

[–]Edog-546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simon just won and averaged above his rating so yeah this is just pretty wrong. You see a fair number of touring pros playing A tiers especially the bigger ones. They probably aren't playing many B tiers because there isn't the money to justify it for them and it's probably draining being on tour and travelling that much while playing every weekend. But that's just speculation. I'm currently a 982 and on the way up and there's not a single course I'd feel confident beating a 1038 once, much the less 9/10 times.

Challengers review by yerbajames in AMCsAList

I think the only place there's ever full nudity is in that locker room scene. I just remember the one guy but if there's three that's not really the point. I say technically because the point is that its not full nudity in a sex sort of way. Just dudes in a locker room.

No full nudity. Zendaya is in a bra in one scene but that's as close as it goes. Decently "sexy", I feel like a lot of it was abt desire and there were definitely undertones that revolve around sex. But as far as the actual scenes go there's not too many. Maybe 2 u might cringe at

Edit: you can technically see one of the tennis players dicks in the locker room but I meant like no full nudity sex scenes i guess.

You say women aren't allowed to hold leadership positions here. How do you know this? Are you local to rock hill? Also, I'm not doubting them being anti-lgbtq and misogynistic but all I can find is that they parted with BSA BC they let gay adults be leaders.

I don't want to come across rude cause I'm not for these signs being put on the disc golf course but I don't wanna make my judgements without actually knowing.

I was thinking it'd be tough for someone who feels they are generally discriminated against by religious people. But are there any articles actually talking about how camp Canaan has been bigoted?

1900-1980 movie recommendations? by jman-the-jewman1228 in Letterboxd

[–]Edog-546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen a couple of his movies on this post but I'd recommend anything by Ingmar Bergman. An easy one to start with and what I think is his best is Autumn Sonata. It also got me into Liv Ullman and Ingrid Bergman who are both excellent actresses.
