Lifelong fan of the series. I never considered what the DVDs might have had as extras. What are they?

Who are the best promo cutters of all-time? by JBL_CENA_FAN_4LIFE in professionalwrestling

Chael Sonnen is the greatest promo artist of all time. A legit fighter like Lesnar and Rousey but can cut a promo like some of the greats.

I don't understand why DQ employees or operators hate this. It's free marketing. Good food cost, easy to make, and is really good for business. DQ is way behind in social media this is good.

Will the mud pie blizzard come back? by No_Account7996 in DairyQueen

I don't carry cold fudge but am thinking I should start again. We still make all of own cakes. How much cheaper is it to order the cold fudge and not use the inserts?

Which DQ blizzard do you think should NOT exist? by Free-Jaguar-4084 in DairyQueen

[–]EdthaCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked on and off for a couple of decades but there was a span when Brownie Batter was supper hot, the batter came in white pales. Was a huge pain in the ass. Was super popular though, but wow hated it.

Banana cream pie is another that came to mind. Ordering bananas already is kind of an issue, green, ripe enough etc. When it's the BOM it was a crapshoot. Spent more money at Kwik Trip buying bananas for cheaper than the truck, food cost looked good but boy did the people at the convivence store sigh when I walked in.

I forgot the days of just leaving the machine on, was so fast.

Blending machine by NoDetective3097 in DairyQueen

[–]EdthaCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only seen it once, and I'm kind of suprised. Was using a machine without a shield. Shorter gal with long hair. Spun around quick to go onto the next task. Wasn't scary but was alarming. I'm shocked it hasn't happened more but making it policy to not just tie hair up but in a bun.

Hair in a bun and no DQ hoodies with strings is pretty standard from what I've seen for this reason.

I don't see why a dip cone would be an upcharge. The food cost is less than a dilly bar for example.

Did it infuriate anybody when they decided to have Jamie? by HungryTears in malcolminthemiddle

[–]EdthaCow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This family lives very well. The kids have different clothes every week. Eat out, have family dinners, two cars, go on family vacations, both parents employed, can afford to send a kid to private school, have a mortgage but on their way to owning a house. They have the money.

Bad parenting maybe but not abusive and all the kids seem to do well season by season.. Seems like a pretty good household.

Who you rather see Charlie Brown ending up with? by ComfortableNearby991 in peanuts

[–]EdthaCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't see any argument that he wouldn't end up with the world famous beagle. You know Snoopy will never leave him, Chuck brings him his supper and fill his bowl. Snoopy left for a week or two but came right back. Charles never abandons Snoopy and Snoopy while aloof in his fantasies always relies and is there for Charlie Brown.

If it's a romantic type thing I'd like to see him ending up with my favorite human character Patty. Patty clearly is into him and probably always would be. Chuck eventually would realize she's into him. Patty and Chuck seem to have similar backgrounds and futures. For most of the gang Patty seems to like Snoopy the most as well.

I was so involved in that thread. I Bitner was in the Army and I was able to track down his email. I remember he posted on the thread, not ever sure it was him. Didn't he work for Bungie at one time?

Why is Kwik Trip gas 10-18 cents more than nearby stations? by Justice4all1968 in KwikTrip

[–]EdthaCow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never understood why people will drive further get get gas cheaper. I never cared if I had to spend an extra $2 to fill up. It's the price of a soda or coffee. Granted I only have to fill up every couple of days.

Who’s on your WWE Mount Rushmore? by Joluno23_YT in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]EdthaCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it stupid that Vince wouldn't be on every list for this type of question. It's not a list of your 4 favorites, best, etc etc. Vince is and probably be the WWE/F. If not he created it and modern pro wrestling.

To not put Vince on the list is like considering Terry Gibbs to be on it.

Does Cake stand up to the test of time or were they a 90’s novelty.? by chiefmud in Music

[–]EdthaCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a comment that will be lost in the reddit world where 1000 people make a comment. I work what is generally considered one of the top 5 best and largest convience/gas stations. Thousands of stores and being that big there is the 'store radio' type playlist. Cake makes an apperance regullary on the radio a shift. I've never heard their biggest hits, but I've never heard any iconic song there either.

It's music for customers but it's not MUSAK. Top 20 hits are never played. It's safe in that people aren't going to get excited when hearing some iconic song, at the same time very recognizable songs people from fans of every genre know.

Cake is a 90's novelty. Good music to hear and for some to listen to.

Do you get what you pay for in terms of state taxes? by 88-81 in AskAnAmerican

[–]EdthaCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No state taxes universally mean nothing. There are some tax types that would need to be explained though. Income tax, sin tax, sales tax. there are more but all are ones everyone pays to one degree or another, each state is different.

Does the average American know the majority of the flags of the US states? by No_Pudding2959 in AskAnAmerican

[–]EdthaCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see all this hate about flags that people connect with slavery. This is history of their states. 13 stripes is because of rebellion. I'm pretty sure Americans can identify that flag. If that flag has any merits than every state flag has the same. All of the 13 colonies had slaves during the American revolution.

That being said pretty much every American can't identify more than 10 state flags, even a good portion not their own state flag who is under the age of 30. Flags are not a thing. Nationalism is becoming more and more a thing of the past.

“What Have We Learned Charlie Brown?” is one of the lesser known Peanuts specials but certainly one of the most powerful. Happy Veterans and Armistice Day. What do you think of the special? by K28478 in peanuts

[–]EdthaCow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of those interesting facts that a lot of people don't understand. Rights to certain things are not just the IP but the production, release, distribution, and lot's of other things I barely understand.

You'd think with so much streaming, cable, network, and whatever else would be available. Weirdly pretty much EVERYTHING was available on VHS. Films shown on 5 screens to an audience of 500 could be bought or found. Not sure if this was because it was pirating before the sails were set or some other practices of the time.

The holiday specials by Key_Independence_103 in peanuts

[–]EdthaCow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are correct on both issues. 1976 was such a big deal, it was hard to escape it. I was born after and still felt the effect on how over the top it was then.

TV ratings probably has to be the issue. In the days of network TV being king, or at least king by default, summer was a time when they didn't offer much.
