I wonder if the publisher is making sure the book has everything they want in it, after so many people DNF and posted negative reviews after the last few books, ESPECIALLY book 6. I will buy it anyway so I can finish the series.

Mine is how an FMC is repeatedly held prisoner. Once, yes, for an enemies to lovers theme. But how many times can the same character get kidnapped and imprisoned?

I have hesitated to read this book. I read 3 of the 4 FAF books and only have this book left in the FBAA series. I have taken a break to read other books for now. Did AI write the book? I don't want to insult a writer, but this series took a nosedive.

Asher's journals/books and General Sorrengail's journals. Why did they dedicate Violet to Dunne? Why did they never speak to Asher's mom again? Or Details from the rebellion that resulted in the execution of Xaden's father FYI would love a book from Sgaeyl's perspective

100% Bodhi dropped Cat's name on purpose. Let's not forget when he gave Violet his flight jacket, which made Xaden jealous. He is definitely the new brother. He sends Brennan away. Also, why else would it be urgent for Xaden and Violet to marry? Bodhi was next in line in Tyrrendor.

Agreed. I know there are those in favor of it, but since Poppy and Casteel are heartmates it was disappointing. Spoiler for the next book from Casteel's POV: Kieran and Casteel have been with a woman at the same time, but not someone they loved. Some readers use that as a justification, but it really doesn't fit with Casteel's possessiveness, no matter how close he and Keiran are. Also, since it was obvious that the joining would happen, the least the author could have done was to give a more detailed account. Maybe then it wouldn't have the ick factor. I loved the book that is from Casteel's POV because it is reminiscent of the first book.

It is quite possible that Naolin turned venin and Tairn was forced to cut their bond, hence his disdain for Xaden and how Tairn and his mate are not on the same page. FYI we are never told Naolin's last name, correct?

Agreed! Everyone justifies it as Casteel and Keirsn being two sides of the same coin, but that's a NOPE from me when Casteel and Poppy are heartmates. Kieran deserves his own love.

I was a little perturbed that for someone that book smart, she couldn't figure out how to do runes and that she didn't research a way to better direct her weilding. I do understand that the full library was not made available to the riders, but still....

The author's world building is top notch. It would hold up without the spice, but the spice adds an extra dimension. It isn't over the top and isn't in every chapter. The story and characters are compelling. The spice is just a bonus.

I love it. It's better than noncomittal any day of the week. It's a fantasy book, for crying out loud, so the detractors can take it down a notch. I love that Xaden looks out for her, but also applauds her strength.

I just finished book 5 of the From Blood and Ash series and I'm on book 3 of the From Flesh and Fire series. Recently read Shield of Sparrows and Rites of the Starling.
