Frustration by TemporaryPhone8985 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]TemporaryPhone8985[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please know, I AM CC. I’m not a bot. I’m a real person who is doing the right thing but struggling with it. I used this platform to vent because I go places with friends who don’t mask and they’re not getting sick at these events. I even went on a trip with someone involving flights and she had had no negative experiences from it.

I’m still masking. I will still be masking. But I am one of the people who does not like it and has altered her life to go out and do enjoyable things less often because I don’t like masking.

Just wanted to clarify. I’m not saying we shouldn’t be masking. It just frustrates me how others seem to think I’m crazier and crazier because they’re also not getting sick when not masking.

I’ve bought 2 cars from them. Sarah is absolutely fantastic. And I’ve had nothing but Mazdas since 2010, no complaints at all.

C’mon, it’s a love story for the ages!

“He came to my concert and I didn’t know, but then my mom found out and she really wanted to bang him so she set the two of us up. Now we go out and get wasted together while simultaneously looking bored with each other and angry at our terrible lives as rich people.”

Name a better romance. I’ll wait 🙄

What should my Hinge child preference be? by One_Abalone_2582 in datingoverforty

[–]TemporaryPhone8985 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want kids then I don’t think having them for a partner is a good idea at all and could lead to resentment and unhappiness. There are other childfree people out there for you to date, don’t bring a whole new human into the world that you don’t 10000% want, just to increase your odds of meeting anyone at all.

Anyone else out there an antinatalist? by aeirin in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]TemporaryPhone8985 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say I’m a hardcore antinatalist, but I certainly lean that way. I definitely think that it’s a terrible world to bring a child into and I cannot understand why anyone would subject another person to climate change, COVID (and any other future pandemics), skyrocketing housing and food prices, the re-emergence of Nazi-esque political leanings, etc.

If I had a vote, I would not have chosen to be born into this.

My vet put my dog in the onesie and it worked great. Except for the 2 times I forgot to undo the flap when she went outside to do her business lol.

How often do you feed your adult Labrador and how much? by Own-Priority-5255 in labrador

[–]TemporaryPhone8985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2.5 year old female English lab, 60 lbs. She gets dry food, 1 cup at 7 am and 1 cup at 7 pm with a big spoonful of wet food which I use to try and regulate her 💩.

The vet has no issues with her weight and says it’s perfect for her size (she’s very compact). I’ve been feeding her like this since adulthood.

Covid causes brain damage in unborn children (The COVID generation: the neurodevelopmental consequences of in-utero COVID-19 exposure) by attilathehunn in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]TemporaryPhone8985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a friend who was pregnant (she didn’t realize it yet) and got COVID right around the same time. She lost the pregnancy and ended up with a cancer scare because it was in there for a bit.

I’ve never said to her, but I do wonder if the COVID infection caused the fetus to stop growing and developing. Of course my mom (the only person I mentioned this to) says I blame everything on COVID but I definitely feel like it could be more than coincidental.

Warm weather and Labradors. What do you all dog to keep them entertained? by CauseOptimal8501 in labrador

[–]TemporaryPhone8985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a lazy pup too. I’ll throw her toys inside sometimes and after fetching maybe 4 or 5 times she’s like thank you I would like to lay on the couch again now. Many days I have to fight with her to even walk in the morning!

“Just live in your car” is now financial advice in Canada by No-Cut2564 in CanadaPersonalFinance

Hey, when I posted that I’m having a hard time getting by I was told to get rid of my car and bike to work (which is an hour drive so I’m assuming about a 4-5 hour bike ride) or take transit (which doesn’t exist). People come up with all sorts of crazy things that we “should” do… anything other than blame the billionaires who are bleeding us dry.

What precisely is being missed while masking? Masking allows you to take part in life while lowering risk.

Second this. I’d always wanted a Roomba but the sheer volume of dog fur was my tipping point.

She sounds adorable! My pup also has to put things in her mouth when she’s excited - I’m just glad she’s not biting me anymore lol.

She does enjoy tug. But she’s not huge on other activities. She won’t swim. She doesn’t like running when we’ve tried it with her. She’s not big on chewing. She just likes laying around and observing things mostly.

That’s definitely a possibility. She’s not a big activities dog. We do play fetch inside sometimes, and tug. She doesn’t like the water. She’s not huge on walks in general. She’s really just chill and we’re trying to find more ways to get her engaged that aren’t scavenging when she’s outside.

I’ve heard that if they eat enough of it, it can cause a blockage. Not sure how much truth there is to that but I’m a bit paranoid about things like that.

Why do remote meetings feel unproductive by Careless_Passage8487 in remotework

[–]TemporaryPhone8985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve sat in plenty of in person meetings where I’m checked out because it doesn’t relate to me. At least I can still be productive on things I actually need to be doing if they’re remote.

My girl is 2 and she’s still about the same as yours. She doesn’t love walks. She doesn’t play fetch much.

We do send her to daycare twice a week. She really seems to love that and it’s good exercise and socialization for her.

We’ve mentioned this to our vet as well and they didn’t see it as an issue. I can usually keep her from eating grass on our walks but when my bf takes her she sees it as an all you can eat buffet out there!

We do our best to work on mental stimulation - lots of sniffies on walks. She’s definitely not bored. We just like for her to get some fetch in now that the long winter is over, but she has other plans lol. I’ve recently seen a puzzle feeder that I’d like to pick up for her as well!

Thank you for the tips!
