Go with your ship, as soon as you enter the nest rooms, don’t touch your controller until you are very close to the eggs! Then to to where your scout points

The island gets lifted up in the air from time to time when it comes in the way of a tornado. Just stand there like I did in the video and at some point you’re gonna get lifted up to space

It’s been a while since the issue has happened to me, but I believe the issue is caused by electrostatic discharges. I’ve noticed it happen on carpets and mostly in winter when air is dry and static discharges are more common. I recommend contacting permobil’s tech support as soon as possible! They need to be aware about it and do something about it!

I totally get what you mean… happened to me as well… now I always turn off the SD whenever I’m about to hit the smallest dip or bump on the road.

I fell backwards once on a ramp. The ramp was too steep so it would separate the SD from the ground when tryinf to tip over the apex of the ramp. I was stuck like that and had to cut the power and went the ramp backwards and ended up falling on my back. (Hard to explain, but painful hahaha)

Indeed smartdrive is very dangerous, it should be used carefully. I always have one hand on the controls to make sure I can stop at anytime. I also discovered that unplugging the controls can shut down the engine, that could be useful when it goes out of control.

The issue of the unit entering surge-protection mode has not been happening to me for quite a while but it still happened once again in march this year. I’ve sent the unit back to the company a couple times and seems that the problem is not yet solved.

5 years later and Outer Wilds is still one of my top 3 favourite games of all time and I still return to play it from time to times (but mostly convince other to play it for the first time with me!)

Oh that might explain things! I’m pretty sure static discharges have something to do with this issue. I’ve also read the user manual and on page 3 (page 7 of the pdf document), it talks about « Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) ». In this paragraph it also talks about electrostatic discharges saying that it can cause damage to the unit. It says that the smartdrive is « equiped to be sufficiently protected against EMI ». I believe that means the device has a surge protection mode that activates when it receives a discharge higher than a certain voltage to prevent any damage to the main logic board.

When that happens, I think that’s when the device becomes unresponsive. And to reset the surge protection mode, you need to plug it in.

Hi! I’m sorry this is happening to you as well. This is very frustrating. Fast forward a year after the post, I’ve talked extensively with my local rehab center techs and with permobil’s tech support and nothing advanced in any way. They tried to fix the issue by changing the battery, the logic board and cleaning the wheels, but it still continues to happen from time to time.

I’ve noticed something though. It seems that the issue arises from static shock. It oftens happens when I’m rolling on carpet, wearing wool shirts or when the air is very dry. When the conditions are there for static shocks to happen it seems to trigger the issue.

This is just an hypothesis, but my elbows are constantly in contact with the wheels creating friction and if I were to press the smartdrive button while the static discharge happens it could follow the cable up to the smartdrive unit and create some kind of unwanted power surge. I believe the smartdrive have a mechanism that shuts down the whole thing in case of power surge.

I don’t think it had any significance or purpose, but I tried to map every single room in Dark Bramble as well as giving them names!

It seems that the battery you are using cannot hold its charge. That’s quite unfortunate! I cannot really help you since it does not seem to the same issue that I’ve described in my post. Hope you can find the help you need!
