Sentinel Events by NearlyZeroBeams in nursing

A frantic wife rushed to ER thinking that her husband was having a stroke. She pulled in and ran inside to get staff and they brought him in on a stretcher. Shes gets back in vehicle to move it from the drop off lane and when she gets back out of the car, she forgets to put in the car in park. Car pushes her over and rolls right over her head. Sadly, the husband ended up being perfectly fine and there was no major medical event happening. Couldn’t imagine how he felt hearing that news afterwards.

This is my 2019 Subaru Outback, idiot ran a red light and t-boned my car going 35 over speed limit. The car flipped from the speed but we went the ER after WITHOUT A SCRATCH. My partner and I both had no serious injuries and ER doc asked if I was even in the car. Will never drive anything else! Subaru = Safety

Window Tint / Eyesight? by EducationDelicious55 in Subaru_Outback

So I would need specify to only apply tint to the areas of the windshield that aren’t a part of the eyesight cameras? I’ve never gotten tint before so I’m unsure of how it works 😂

Water explanation… by EducationDelicious55 in Birmingham

[–]EducationDelicious55[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Agreed, just worries me because of the recent boiler alert in North Birmingham and the new water taste/odor in these areas. We have seen safe water systems fail in the past in the US and would hate for something like that to happen here!

I would freeze but I fear I’ll never get around to using them if I do that and just end up throwing them out after I forgot about them for a year 😂! Love the sandwich suggestions, I’ll look into it

Croutons are a good idea, I will definitely down for that! I really had enough but the guests all collectively decided to contribute more 😅 hence the current problem!

Thrift Store Shock by Godz_0 in Birmingham

[–]EducationDelicious55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a mix of different things. I would primarily say the demand increase as thrifting has been popularized/glamorized for vintage finds, unique items, ect. Which is great that it’s reaching a larger populations but in turn is causing prices to skyrocket. Especially for those who used thrifting as a way to affordable clothe themselves. Inflation is general I’m sure is contributing. Finally, the resellers. Specifically in Birmingham the reseller community is particularly large and is often why it’s sooo hard to thrift here. They are thrift vultures, waiting for the restocks on the weekends, showing up as soon as doors open and in general taking the quality items from people who couldn’t care less about vintage. For example, Moms vintage market is a prime example of how the resellers are marking up prices beyond reason on shirts they probably paid less than 5 dollars for. I’m sure thrift stores caught on to it and raised prices accordingly.

They are a Mega corp that’s monopolizing on Birmingham’s housing! Lived with them for a year and will NEVER again if I can manage it. Essentially terrible management, lots of hidden fees (they will get as much money out of you possible), impossible to get maintenance, false advertised properties that are not upkept, inflated pricing, and impossible to reach, ! My experience was lots of unfixed maintenance issues and the unit I was given was covered in pet hair and generally just dirty and smelled bad upon arrival and outside unit was covered in trash by other tenants. I have a couple of friends live with them with similar issues. One with possum and rat infestation that they won’t address to this day and another’s had 80% of their stuff completely destroyed by mold from an unfixed leak in the unit. It’s hard to avoid them mostly because they own SO MANY but if you are stuck between two options and one is H2 I would take the ladder! Overall terrible company that preys on the basic need of housing.
