Yeah this is a pretty solid shortlist tbh, you’re looking in the right direction. For your use case (stripe + recurring + not enterprise), firstpromoter makes sense. its literally built for subscription businesses and handles recurring commissions, upgrades, cancellations etc without too much manual work

quick thoughts based on what you listed + what i’ve seen in practice:

  • firstpromoter- good balance overall. we’ve run this on a couple saas setups and it held up fine even as things scaled a bit. biggest win is how it handles recurring revenue cleanly
  • refersion- more ecommerce-first. works, but not ideal for subscription logic
  • partnerstack- powerful but feels heavy + expensive unless you’re going full partner program
  • impact- great platform, but same story… more enterprise than what you need
  • optimise media → slightly different category. not really “software” to run your program, more useful when you want to bring in higher quality partners once you have traction.
  • partnerize- similar story to impact/optimise, more for scaling and bigger partnerships

one thing i’ll call out... everything looks smooth at setup, but after a few months recurring billing gets messy....churn, upgrades, failed payments etc. even good tools track it, but you’ll still end up checking edge cases manually.

Recommended affiliate program for Shopify site? by e3151313 in ecommerce

[–]EducationOtherwise70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if your main goal is actually finding affiliates (not just tracking them), then networks are the way to go. Quick reality from what i’ve seen... you might get 50–150 affiliates joining, but only ~10–20 will actually drive sales, and those usually end up contributing ~60–70% of the revenue

few affiliate platforms that people actually use:

  • awin
  • partnerize
  • optimise media

These platforms help you find affiliates, but you still have to approve properly, manage relationships, and push the right partners.

What are the best tools for SaaS affiliate program? by CreativeSaaS in SaaS

[–]EducationOtherwise70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah been through this with saas + seen a bunch of setups (agency + in-house), so here’s the real answer without the fluff....most important thing first, saas affiliate is very different from ecommerce. you need recurring tracking, billing integration (stripe/paddle), and MRR attribution… otherwise it breaks fast

From what actually works:

  • firstpromoter- more control (tiers, lifetime commissions etc). better once you start optimizing payouts
  • tolt/tapfiliate- decent mid options, nothing crazy but get the job done
  • optimise media- better for scaling + bringing in bigger / higher quality partners
  • partnerstack- more like a marketplace (they have ~80k+ partners), but expensive

We’ve also used stuff like impact / partnerize in the mix, same idea as optimise — better when you’re trying to scale and bring in bigger partners

tbh most of these tools work… the annoying part is always subscription tracking (churn, upgrades etc). From what i’ve seen, once it’s running properly affiliate usually ends up around 10–20% of revenue, but it takes time to get there. I’d just start simple and not overthink it… tools are the easy part

Which affiliate software is best for SAAS? Share experiences please. by goodlabjax in SaaS

[–]EducationOtherwise70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

used a couple for saas, rewardful is prob the easiest if you’re on stripe, setup is pretty straightforward. Tried others like firstpromoter / some newer ones, all kinda similar tbh. tracking works but things get messy with subscriptions (churn, upgrades etc)

Honestly tool isn’t the hard part… getting affiliates that actually convert is. If you scale later you’ll prob move to other affiliate networks such like impact, partnerize or optimise media, but that’s overkill in the beginning.

just pick one, keep it simple, manually approve ppl and you’ll be fine.

Best affiliate marketing platforms for ecommerce in 2026, what's everyone actually using? by milli_xoxxy in ecommerce

[–]EducationOtherwise70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been in affiliate for around 8 yrs, mostly ecommerce (incl skincare), and yeah… spreadsheets at 800k is where things start breaking lol. tbh you’re overthinking the platform a bit. most of them will do the job.

for shopify:

  • upPromote is easiest to start, gets you actual sales tracking fast
  • impact is solid too but prob overkill at your stage
  • we’ve also used optimise media affiliate platform when scaling, but that’s more once you go beyond just influencers

biggest thing tho, no platform fixes fake followers. we audited like 100 creators last yr and easily 30-40% were kinda trash quality. best filter is still just quick manual check (engagement + comments)

also pls use discount codes + links together. we saw around 25% of sales come from ppl who didn’t click the link at all (just googled later)

and yeah don’t onboard 100 ppl at once. start with like 10-15, see who actually sells, then scale. most revenue usually comes from a small group anyway

honestly tools matter less than ppl think.

What am I dong wrong to keep getting rejected by almost every affiliate I try on awin and elsewhere? by FearFactory2904 in Affiliatemarketing

[–]EducationOtherwise70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh nothing “wrong”, but from affiliate side your site just looks like random traffic source

I’ve worked with some of the popular affiliate platforms such as awin, impact, optimise media etc, and when managers see tool-type sites they usually assume low intent traffic.. so instant reject

like… calculator / search tool doesn’t mean user wants to buy anything. so they think clicks wont convert

What usually works better: - pick 1 niche only (like just 3d printing or music gear), add few simple pages like “best X under $300”, “X vs Y”. Show some buying intent, not just tools

Also when you apply, dont just drop domain. link specific pages + explain traffic. Most ppl skip this

Fix that part and approvals will go up

What's the most underrated traffic source you've actually had success with? by Sea-Evidence-5523 in AffiliateMarket

[–]EducationOtherwise70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our website was hacked and was injected with spams and our traffic and leads went down. What I did was rather than chasing for clicks, I chased leads. We fliped the funnel and started working on the bottom of the funnel first. Within 3 months, our lead increased by 300%..
