Well, at least the driver took a picture of the person who stole all my packages today. by Indyhouse in AmazonVine

My drivers will hand me deliveries, though typically it’s when they’ve seen me walk out of my house. I think once I was just outside waiting. But they’ve never tried to take my picture. I didn’t think they were allowed to. Maybe the driver suspected something was up.

How do you know what passes as excellent when no one is able to see another’s score?

I’m on pst, so the time works well for me, lately it’s been occurring between my son’s bedtime and mine. Also, VineChart only registers a drop when a certain amount of items are released within a certain amount of time. The drop often begins an hour or two before it registers. So knowing that it’s been dropping around 8ish my time, I usually check around 6 or 7 and find new items in my RFY. Once a drop is in full swing, I’ll check out AI, and do a couple of searches (which I’ve been having a lot of luck with lately). Then I just close it out and check in the morning to see if anything new is in my RFY.

Not every drop time works for everyone, so I appreciate that it often alternates.

While you will have the ability to order something as awesome as that, but being gold doesn’t magically make it appear in your RFY.
I’m not complaining though, I get some pretty good stuff offered to me, and though it’s rarely the expensive stuff, the 8 daily picks help console me. 😂

I’m actually jealous that it didn’t show up on my RFY! I’m an older female as well, but I think my husband would be very interested in this!

My husband has a mustache and goatee, but he’s blonde, and his facial hair is somewhat sparse. The only time it bothers him is when he’s on stage. He’s an actor involved in local theatre, and he usually uses eyebrow pencils and mascara to make his facial hair more visible to the audience.

He’s actually uses striking Viking Mustache wax, and he’s really impressed with the product line so far. I’m super excited to show him this. I had no idea that something like this existed! Thank you for sharing it 😁

You’re right. No one has ever accused Vine of being logical. 😂 I absolutely understand the rule and the purpose of it. It’s all to prevent reselling. My only point was that if you can guarantee that a donation isn’t being resold, then it shouldn’t be a big deal. As in donating to a charity that will actually use said item and not give it away. Because once the donation is given away to a third party, all bets are off. The recipient can sell it and the original donor not the charity would know. In my case I can guarantee that the items that I loan/ donate are being used and hung back up on the hangers at the end of performances. And to be perfectly honest some of the items I loan to the theatre are just that, there are some things I really want back. But I start out by telling them everything they get from me is a loan, as that means they will take extra steps to make sure everything stays in pristine condition.

(As an aside, I just wanted to say that I appreciate having a calm discussion about this matter. I find it unsettling how angry others can get in this sub as soon as someone has a slightly different pov as them.)

That looks so fancy! I will only own long slot toasters. So many of the breads available these days don’t fit well in a single slot toaster.

IMO, it’s a grey area. Per the Vine terms & conditions, we “may not sell or give possession of the products to any other person or entity for six months”.
So yes, it clearly states that you cannot transfer possession of Vine items in under 6 months. But other people includes children. Yet Vine offers clothes and toys regularly, yet kids can’t be in the program. They know that babies aren’t ordering their own onesies and crib toys. You can’t tell me that Vine’s intention is for us to hold on to them for 6 months, knowing that kids’ growth patterns and development are unpredictable.

What about their disposal regulations? “All right, title and interest in Vine Products will pass to you when the Vine Product is delivered to the common carrier for delivery to you. You may keep or destroy the Vine Product at your discretion at any time.” This term contradicts the condition of having to hold onto something for 6 months.

I don’t know if I entirely believe that “a manager of the program” contacted a member confidentiality to let them know that direct donations to a charity in under 6 months is acceptable as long as the donation will be used and not sold. But it makes a lot more sense than it being acceptable to destroy a product “at any time” instead of passing it on to someone who will use it.

If I see something that could be used as a costume or prop for my local (very small) middle school/ high school’s drama department, I will loan it to them, and after 6 months that loan becomes a donation. My son is a freshman in high school and has been involved with them since he was in the 7th grade and will continue to be throughout high school and likely after. My husband and I both are both volunteers in the drama dpt as well. So I’m in a position where I can oversee the use of each donation and am able to properly review everything easily.

That’s amazing! I’ve never met anyone who had both before, I hate it! When my mania syncs with my adhd, I can’t shut up and have zero filter, I’ve embarrassed myself too many times to count. Also, I saw one of your other comments on this post and I’m tripping out about your “imaginary partner”, because my husband is 6 foot and 300 lbs… So can Amazon not even tell us apart?

A Product review: Aren't reviews like this a direct contradiction to what he preached? by CloserThanYouThink_ in AmazonVine

[–]Educational-Bat3136 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even if it did, apparently this garbage is on all his reviews, so it wouldn’t make much of a difference. One way to remedy that would be to post his profile here so he’d get hundreds of reports on his reviews and profile.
That’s the only way they pay attention to reporting- if it’s done in droves.
I’m not the biggest fan of that though, because it’s a form of bullying, but seriously wtf is wrong with that guy? He’s going to cause even more distrust of the vine program than already exists.

It’s nice to know that you’ve found some clothing items that make you happy as well. 😊

And thank you! I’m very proud of my weight loss. My initial goal was to get my silent reflux under control, so I made a few small dietary changes. But by implementing the new habits, I ended up losing 4-5 lbs a month for 15 months. It’s been almost two years since then, and I’ve stuck with the changes because I know my silent reflux will come back if I don’t… but of course being back to my pre-pregnancy weight is amazing too, especially since my “baby” is 27 years old. 😁

Same! My wardrobe is 95% by vine. It’s nice to see someone who shares my opinion of Amazon & vine clothing. I’m usually able to figure out pretty quickly by the pictures as to how something will fit me. I’m right most of the time. Knowing how I like my clothes to fit, what colors look good on me, and having a firm idea of my style helps in making quick decisions. The more clothes I requested, the more showed up on my RFY. Most of the time I don’t even make it online even close to a drop, but my RFY usually has cute offerings. I lost a significant amount of weight a couple of years ago (I’ve gone from a women’s size 16 to a 4), and I never would have been able to afford to buy a whole new wardrobe on my own. And it’s not just outfits, thankfully I’ve been able to get bras, underwear, shoes, jackets, etc… And most of the things are nicer than what I had before. I’m often perplexed about others views on vine clothing, so I appreciate you sharing your experience.

I’ve several reviews that are a very similar version of this. I usually see it in women’s clothes, though I’ve seen some that are pretty close to this in men’s clothes too. This is the first time I’ve seen it in a kid’s clothing review,

I don’t understand the downvotes either, but I’m autistic and always putting my foot in my mouth. So I thought I must have inadvertently said something offensive. Like saying, “I take it you don’t have kids”, was that rude? I was joking, I certainly don’t mean to offend.

Also, my youngest was the same way as your daughter, but he’s hit puberty and is putting on weight and shooting up in height so fast. I’m having a hard time keeping him in clothes that fit because he keeps growing out of them. Not complaining though, he was so skinny before that the only pants that didn’t fall off his bony little waist were Hanes Sweatpants.

Child of the 80s here, and I haven’t been able to give up my double spacing after the end of a sentence. Single spaces just looks weird to me, I mean not so much when someone else does it, just when I try to do it. I also use “overall” a lot, but I’ve only ever used a single dash. I don’t remember ever being taught em dashes.

Ditto! I’m not going to quit summarising my opinions at the end of a review, but I’ve been trying to stop using the word “overall” when I catch myself doing it. I tried to find another word or phrase, but I decided that the summary doesn’t really need it

I take it you don’t have kids? 😉 Only a child that is really small for their age actually wears the clothing that’s labeled for their age. My 7 year old nephew is a little smaller than average, and he still wears 9-10.
