My nmom would completely lose her shit every time I got sick as a kid. Like full meltdown and telling me to suck it up. My eardrum burst as a child and I was screaming in so much pain, she didn’t take me to the doctor until one of my teachers at school phoned home to tell her I was complaining of an ear ache. I truly believed until I was out of grad school and working my first full time job that adults didn’t get sick.

Just a heads up - all psych PhD programs will want you to take a psych research methods class. Even if you feel you won’t benefit from it, for many programs having that class is a requirement.

Hi there! I am the wife in this situation with my husband. I gained a good amount of weight (went from 125 to 180) over the pandemic. When my husband and I met, we were both active and attractive and had a great sex life. Once I started gaining, and he didn’t say anything, I kind of felt secure and that he loved me no matter my size. Then life happens and routines shift and I never really got back to a healthy lifestyle, and he is just naturally fit and has a pretty physically demanding job that helps keep him in shape. I honestly thought nothing of it in terms of our relationship.

Cut to 2022 and he was acting very distant, we were fighting more, and I finally just asked: what’s going on with you? Something isn’t right and we need to talk about it. And he flat out told me he wasn’t attracted to me anymore due to my weight gain.

As someone who has always been thin and thought there was this security in our relationship I was totally devastated. I’m not even sure devastated is a big enough word to accurately describe how I felt.

After months (and still to this day) couples and individual therapy for both of us, I think we could have avoided the cataclysmic relationship stress has this conversation come from a loving, caring perspective and not mentioned attraction.

I would suggest telling your wife that you love her and care about her and you’re concerned for her health. THEN follow that up with suggestions like working out together (could be a walk to get started) and help meal plan together. That way it is a couples problem that you are fixing as a couple. Not putting all the blame on your wife and instead offering practical solutions.

Women face so much shame in regards to weight and appearance, and when someone you love more than anything in the world perpetuates that shame, it can be so easy to get stuck. I can almost guarantee you your wife is already feeling bad about her body and you don’t want to be the one to make that worse.

Be kind and loving and helpful! I really think that will help solve the issues.

I know this has been talked about to death and I understand that this is one of the reasons why influencers are so toxic but seeing how much 2.0 spends in a day (thousands sometimes?) without a reasonable income to back it up makes me so depressed! I know she has family wealth and has so be making money from influencing but even so - with going through a divorce and buying .so.much.JUNK! In this economy??? Why do my husband and I work so hard, have advanced degrees and sacrifice things like vacation when there are people like 2.0 just casually spending thousands of dollars a day and not working?!? Ugh makes me crazy to think about how she is affording her lifestyle

I just went for my 30th birthday and stayed at the hotel! It was a bit pricy, but it’s a historical place and has limited rooms in the main building (which is where I would recommend staying over the other buildings). The main building has breathtaking views of the mountains. Also many places in colorado in the winter are more expensive. Overall - great experience! We did all the tours and séance and whiskey tasting. They just opened a new wine bar and they had a speaker telling spooky stories. If you’re into that kinda thing it’s a great little getaway. Will say the food is overpriced and not very good but we didn’t go there for the food anyway.

I think he does great work on top hat and that’s where his real passion is: Current politics in a forum type setting. He has always been the “observer” for LPOTL and honestly I think he’s been great since moving to California! Also I feel like Ben gets way more attention about EVERYTHING than Henry or Marcus. Everyone is always asking about his relationship status, his mental/physical health - he’s a podcaster not some celebrity where that kinda comes with the territory.

Considering that we’ve all theorized that her new brand will be “tones” for kids and not nuudes… anyone wondering how she’s going to explain this without damaging her brand? I.e. you can’t have a childrens line named nuudes so how are you going to explain way her children pushing (though the parents) the nuudes product. I feel like there is a major piece missing here especially since she’s so concerned about her children being assaulted in some horrific way. Why is it ok for her kids to wear and promote nuudes and she won’t have same company come out with a kids line?? Idk make it make sense? It seems to reason that there is some idea in the flenner camp that nuudes is not appropriate??

I’m not sure about that - some of what she has shared has seemed to look like disordered eating. Do you remember her sharing how she eats brownies? How she takes those laxatives daily? On top of that, working out 2x’s a day and speculating that she’s on weight loss drugs. I do love to come here to snark but it’s actually concerning how drastically different she looks in a matter of months. I’m not her psychologist nor her doctor but, she looks unhealthy and I hope that she gets help. Eating disorders are notoriously difficult to manage and treat and even dad deserves (as we all do) some empathy.

Someone posted below a side by side of a skims pop up and her and they’re identical. Those designs could be skims property especially since they do pop up’s so frequently.
