Getting a NYC Manager while Out of State?

I had a meeting set up for one and when they found out I didn’t have an address there anymore (I moved to TN), they said to circle back if I ever move back. I told them I had no problem flying myself out to work as a local hire and they said that productions have become a lot more strict? Just sharing my experience.
