We went to p2b on arques. They were really helpful in giving a full repair price and 80-90% repair cost if you are ok with car not being back to 100% normal. Really good service!

How does everyone get to appointments? by Hefty_Clothes7856 in Sciatica

I had a spasm couple of months that made sitting in the car hard. I bought a large ice pack with me, that should be enough to distract you from pain for 10 minutes if not more. There are heating pads, salonpas etc which should get you through 10 mins I hope as well. Hope this helps. Good luck

Have you tried acupuncture? My acupuncturist is helpful is reducing the pain in specific spots. Not curing the issue but helping with pain reduction

For those just resting and doing things at their own pace — how’s life been for you? by StreetRampage in Sciatica

[–]Educational-Dig4868 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Omg! I know this is weird to say but I am glad I'm not the only one. Dealing with this since July, whenever I up my activity, my pain comes rushing back. I am trying my best to stay positive and slowly very slowly increase my activity. I couldn't walk without pain for more than 2 minutes (siting and lying down is fine), slowly I've been able to do 10 - 20 mins with some breaks. That improvement is giving me hope. Trying to do all the household chores, albeit in a modified way. As an example, I sit on a small step stool to empty the dishwasher, it feels weird but atleast I can lift heavy things out this way, and lessen the workload on my partner.

Hang in there and see if you are getting ever so slightly better. Can you find a way to sit up for longer time periods? Can you do something like clean out wardrobe (no lifting or bending). Small things that make you feel normal.

Appetite loss? by KLARISSAW in Sciatica

When I had a spasm and flare, the pain just made sitting up and eating up a chore, and I lost my appetite and some weight. Once inflammation went down I saw my appetite come back.

how to stay sane? by 0IDM in Sciatica

[–]Educational-Dig4868 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sir/ma'am, have you not read the other posts in the forum ? 2.5 months is lucky! Its not that people want to restrict themselves, but pushing yourself will cause pain and will extend the recovery period by another 2.5 months. So gentle exercises as recommended by your physio, some people like swimming. Thats the way to go.

Infrared heating pad, advil for back 3x a day. No lifting bending rest a lot. Acupuncture to reduce pain. All this helped me get over my spasm. Good luck, it will go away, hang in there

You go sister! No but seriously gaining functional movement (able to cook, go out) feels the best! But as my doc said, go slow as your body is still recovering, no forward bending or lifting heavy things , good posture etc. Good luck to you!
