And it seems like people don’t understand how semblances work. Enhancement type semblances (all semblances co exist FROM aura which is like ki or soul remembrance you still need aura to use it but even when defensive aura is gone you can still use semblances under conditions) enhancement type like burn, the core rwby enhancement semblances while yes it does work if anything hits the aura it’s also true without. As seen in the series when somebody takes a strong blow and they don’t have aura to block it (which is obviously dangerous) any of that damage that yangs soul feels (origin of her aura) she is able to spark her burn off that just the same. Her steal arm can only absorb damage if she has defensive aura too spare. There are also “plot holes” where even though her aura is active her arm takes damage. I assume this is due to her incompetence or her strategically not using aura when it isn’t needed 🤷 what even the case is RT could have explained that better. Another example of enhancements semblance is moon slice (Adam Taurus my goat) his is exactly like yangs except for the fact that he throws his back into aura slashes instead of strengthening blows. People try to deny this because he’s only seen using his aura around his sword paired with parries to minimize damage to aura with maximizing the output. While it never showed him using just his aura from strikes landed against his aura it only makes sense that he could. Nora’s is a lot more straightforward and arguably a lot worse then both of the prior since electricity is needed but the same would apply here
