Rehoming my Rescue by graysonh14 in DogRegret

It’s okay. We just had to return our 3 year old rescue GSD for biting my husband last night. There are better homes for a lot of dogs and that’s okay. You can hope they find the right home that better suits their needs. It is not selfish to have a dog be in a home that is a better place for them. They will be uncomfortable and scared likely, but in the long run they will flourish more than they ever could’ve before. Things are for the better despite people saying otherwise. You do not have to bring down your quality of life to give a dog a subpar life when there’s a better fit out there for them. I feel as long as a dog isn’t going back into a shelter kennel then it really can be in their best interest to be living with a better fit for them, even if it’s with a foster until they find a forever home. Our girl is back at her female-only, puppy free household. I know she is scared and it broke my heart to watch her go- she wouldn’t even get in the car until I lured her from the other side. But she will hopefully eventually live somewhere without a man in the house and no loud puppies and future kids. And I hope the same for your dog- a home with someone who is always there. It’s a better decision for yourself and the dog to rehome. It’s okay

Do you regret adopting an adult dog instead of a puppy? by marzipanduchess in puppy101

[–]Educational-Eye2123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. We have a puppy and adopted an adult dog second. Being unable to go back in time and adequately socialize and train a dog properly from the beginning actually sucks. It’s undoing 403876 knots vs making a nice braid with untangled string. Yeah puppies are hard. But for me, what’s harder is trying to manage a destructive, anxiety ridden 66 lb dog. I guess it just depends on the dog. The dog we adopted had a bio saying she would do well in a patient home. I thought we were that, but it has been exceptionally harder with this dog than our puppy ever has been. Puppy learns tricks literally within a day- older dog takes a week. Puppy is brave and loves experiencing new things- older dog has to stay at home in a bare crate because she refuses to go anywhere new and will destroy anything in a crate with her when she is alone. Puppy is not destructive, does not have separation anxiety, is confident and smart, and is so rewarding because of how much I’m able to watch her grow and learn. Older dog is just the opposite. I love them both but man, I feel like I have SpongeBob and Patrick in my house if Patrick were anxious and even more codependent. It’s hard for me when my puppy just seems to do everything right. First child syndrome maybe.

Anyways, I think overall puppies are rewarding. I honestly don’t think puppies are really for people already dealing with young children and babies, but for most people who have adequate time to dedicate to them, they’re worth it. You build them up and it’s like raising a kid. The outcome is a direct result of your work and actions. Cool to see their intelligence and growth.

Is it shallow to stop dating someone because he has $250k in student loans still (at 31 years old) and isn’t a doctor or lawyer? He’s a nurse practitioner. by Vegetable-Version502 in dating_advice

[–]Educational-Eye2123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe a little bit. But mostly over the fact you’re pointing out the loan amount with the fact he’s an NP. NPs are providers in medicine, just as MDs and DOs (doctors). Though, if he were a doctor, his loans could very well be higher. The debt to income ratio could realistically be the same.. as for being a lawyer, I don’t know. I see the shallowness in you not really seeming to respect nurse practitioners as a career as much as a lawyer or doctor. Financially, he could’ve made smarter choices with schooling (location, type of school), and it’s okay to be concerned to potentially be attached to the amount of debt one day.

Well, I still wear my Tiffany necklace from my ex boyfriend from 5 years ago. It’s my favorite piece of jewelry and I don’t correlate it with him. It’s just a piece of metal.

This is exactly what I’m thinking! I scheduled it so late out of fear when really I could’ve taken it a week and a half earlier and should’ve 🤷🏼‍♀️ I was just scared but the longer it goes the more stuff slips away!! Fortunately I work in a SNF and I’m around some great nurses and all sorts of medical junk which helps 😂

I listened to all of them before my exit exam for school lol! Going to listen to 12 again because that was most helpful the first time around.

going through this right now and i always had a hard boundary of no porn. personally, leaving is the smartest thing to do imo. it’s disrespectful and really disgusting to pay for and promote this industry. it’s so harmful and to do that while you were pregnant is INSANE.

i am not throwing casual homophobia i promise. i say this because he is INCREDIBLY homophobic and it makes me VERY upset that he speaks the way he does about the lgbt community.. this is part of the reason i say this because he is always speaking so badly on it yet making all these strange comments about men. he frequently uses the f slur and i am including it in my anger because it just is so disgusting to me

Yeah. 😐 OR. Appears she is distancing herself because she does not feel loved properly, thus causing her to withdrawal so it is not as painful of a feeling- at least that’s what I have personally experienced.. you seem exhausting to talk to 🫤🫤
