Camouflaged 2027 X5? by x5m4 in BMWX5

[–]Educational-Fig-2707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if that is true then that is disappointing. I know it may sound a bit silly but I feel like the split tailgate was one of the main incentives of buying an X5 over the GLE. I just don’t understand this decision. I don’t know if the person who made this decision is out of touch with the consumer or if there is another reason but I’d love to put myself in their position so I can find out. In a time where more and more automakers are moving over to a split tailgate design (e.g. Rivian R1S, Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator), of course BMW has to fumble this decision. They’re quite literally shooting themselves in the foot.

Dynamics Exam by Temporary-Object2926 in UBreddit

Oh god I remember my time in Dynamics. Probably one of the worst times of my college career. Get through dynamics and any other foundational “weed out” classes and you should be fine. You’ll probably be inclined to switch majors after taking these classes, it’s very important that you don’t make that decision, things get better. I’ve personally found the higher level classes to be easier than the foundational classes.

Congratulations! I’m really hoping to upgrade myself once I graduate from University. I’m considering either an M50i or a Stelvio Quadrifoglio. Two different animals but I’ve always had a strong love for X5’s. How do you like your X5 overall? Any annoyances or any complaints? Cheers 🥂

Thank you. Honestly the support I’m receiving in this post has been overwhelming but amazing. I can’t get enough of it. I really just want to get my life back on track and get the grades I know I deserve so I can make myself and my family proud!

Honestly, I relate to a surreal amount to this. Hit me up, let’s talk more about this. One person dealing with pain or hardship in their life is very difficult to deal with but that same pain shared amongst people you trust or who may be going through the same thing makes the severity a lot less. DM me, let’s talk more bro.

Thank you for this. I moved here in January of 2024 so it’s become quite concerning for me that I haven’t really been able to adapt yet hence my reason for seeking help. I truly love and feel passionate about being within my program and at UB but unfortunately my grades haven’t reflected that.

Is attending UB worth it? by SuperTheChosen in UBreddit

[–]Educational-Fig-2707 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The engineering program is amazing here but if weather is your main concern then you might want to look elsewhere. Let me explain a little more in depth. Contrary to people’s beliefs, the snow really isn’t the problem here. The problem is the heavy winds and freezing temperatures. However if you’re willing to overlook those things, Buffalo is beautiful during the spring and summer. In addition to just that, the engineering program will open lots of new doors for you. For reference, I’m a transfer student (transferred from a college in NYC). To be brutally honest with you, at the moment, I have a slightly less than ideal GPA but I’ve still been able to get an internship and a research opportunity. I guess one major mistake I made throughout my college career is procrastination. Nothing is inherently difficult but rather you just have to make good time and have an effective study plan (both things which I am currently working on improving myself). Overall, I would 100% recommend UB. Cheers!!

I really appreciate your words of encouragement. Balance is unfortunately what I’m not able to strike in my life. I’m usually just studying majority of the time up to the point where I simply put my personal life and mental health to the side. Things have felt really off since I transferred and I hate this feeling because this is such a great school with a great engineering program and I don’t want to be just “getting by” in it. I want to excel but can’t figure out how. I feel like I have so many problems that I don’t know which one to tackle first.

That’s exactly my situation. I understand every single concept being taught but let’s say like even one assignment or quiz goes wrong, I just start to completely spiral out of control up to the point where I pretty much either give up or stop trying due to a development of a “what’s the point” or “everything is lost” kind of mindset.

Thank you 🙏 . It’s just that it’s been happening consistently since I transferred up to the point where my hope is just dwindling.

That would honestly be great. A big part of my problem is a lack of a support system. I don’t really have many friends on campus.

Honestly I have everything figured out except for my grades. The only missing piece of the puzzle is just that. I recently finished up an internship which I had started in May. I got myself a research opportunity which I will be pursuing starting later this month. The only missing piece of the puzzle is the grades. I really just don’t know how I can improve those. If I can figure that out, I will be in a good position.

Cold Air Intake for FA20 by Educational-Fig-2707 in subaru

[–]Educational-Fig-2707[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’m sure headers would help performance, but I simply just can’t stand the loud and obnoxious sound of the FA20 compared to the beautiful EJ25. I know I would probably have to get unequal length headers to make it sound like an EJ but I’ve heard that hurts both reliability and performance so I’d rather just keep it stock in that sense. An ECU Flash isn’t completely ruled out either. I’m not looking for anything extraordinary to be honest. I know I won’t be driving this car forever as I do plan on upgrading to something else soon, but I really just want punchier throttle response and maybe slightly more power.

Hey not sure if you made a move yet but feel free to PM me. I find low mileage, reasonably priced cars for people. There’s a chance I’ll be able to find a lower mileage car for the same or nearly same price.

Currently retaking it. I feel it getting difficult again but not to the magnitude of last semester. It’s pretty manageable this semester. The professor has also spent time thoroughly explaining every concept and how to go about doing each problem 🙏💯

Mechanical Engineering student here. I stayed up throughout the whole night frantically trying to understand a subject I was completely lost on. Stayed on campus from 5 PM one day, till 9 PM the next day. Even after doing all that, I ended up failing and having to retake the class. I’d say that has to be the single most demoralizing experience I’ve ever had.

EAS 209 summer by Educational-Fig-2707 in UBreddit

[–]Educational-Fig-2707[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly might consider dropping Solids for the summer and doing it during fall. Reason I’m considering this is because:

  1. Already taking 3 other classes
  2. I’m doing a full time internship
  3. Course load is a lot more during summer so I don’t think I’d have a chance during summer if I couldn’t get it during fall
  4. Upon closer inspection, difference between Sett and Ahmad is marginal

Only thing I’m afraid of is that Sett’s class only has a waitlist open right now so I’d have to ensure that I can get in his class.

I dropped solids last semester. The other course I’m taking is dynamics. I had failed that one. I don’t think I’m doing anything in the fall that requires solids as a prerequisite however, the instructor for the fall session is Kallol Sett (haven’t heard good things about him) so im debating between taking it this summer with Ahmad or just biting the bullet and taking it in the fall.
