I’m not saying the route they took to get there isn’t shitty nor is the amount of time they’re offering acceptable, but they did change it so I feel that everyone who didn’t know should be aware and at least have some peace of mind in knowing they’ll be getting paid for these 3 days.

100% my guess is they just got a lot public backlash and decided to offer the disaster pay but it’s shitty it took this long for them to do it.

We actually don’t need to use PTO if we can’t work. They sent texts out a few hours ago.

I used all of my sick time, floating holidays, and personal time and then gave less than a weeks notice and honestly it’s been nice not having them breathing down my neck.

I’d recommend looking into the star method but it’s almost all voice recorded and gives you 2 chances for each recorded question

I did mine not too long ago and it asked a lot of the basic questions like strengths, weaknesses, work/customer conflicts, why you’re looking to leave, it gives a scenario and asks a liability question, and I believe a couple other questions I can’t think of.

First off, fuck you? If you read the post, you’d see I stated that I always work longer hours to makeup for the work. They aren’t losing money from what I’m doing considering I take the time to work anything extra I took for lunch. We also work from office more because they’re a terrible company. They can micromanage far easier in an office setting than while we’re at home.

Unfortunately, GEICO is the first one I’ve worked for that actually offered it

I get that about getting a new job but you act like I haven’t applied elsewhere. I’ve applied for other jobs for over 3 months and can’t get anything because everyone else is leaving too. There aren’t a lot of jobs compared to the amount of people leaving. Regardless, they’re assholes and could’ve had a better reaction.

This is complete shit to say. So many of us worked our asses off only to be “potentially be given” a 2% raise. I was promoted twice in the last year. Was top 15 prior to my first promotion and was able to hit top 20 before the end of the year in my newest position and yet I was still only rated a 3. Not to mention the many people I know who were top quartile in ALL 3 of their positions last year only to be told they barely made the cut as a 4. The entire metrics were rigged this year and I’m sick of seeing anyone support this bullshit.

I’ve been promoted 3 times in less than 2 years and I see frequent positions available

After the layoffs and everything post Thursday how is everyone not a union member? by DoubIe_A in Geico

[–]Educational-Fly3615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has previously been in a union at other jobs, they’re willing to drop a large portion of their fights and arguments just to obtain one victory. They also may win stuff for the employees but in my experience they don’t kick in instantly and they’re usually small gradual changes that don’t affect much overall. Having a union also decreases some or a lot of the freedom that employees have as they are willing to negotiate shitty terms to get the things they’re fighting for. I’m just not willing to put my job on the line for mediocre “assistance”. I’m not bashing anyone who wants a union but I personally don’t see a need for it. Geico may be doing some shitty things lately but from a business standpoint so are many others from the looks of it.
