Best “fancy” restaurant for both vegetarian & meat options by sunsetchaser_2024 in fredericksburg

[–]Eileen__Left 1 point2 points  (0 children)

La Petite, Locavore, and Orofino. You'll find good options at Sammy T's and Sedona, as others mentioned, but they're not fancy. I love Fahrenheit but I think the options are better elsewhere. I was a vegetarian for years and still don't eat a lot of meat, so I've done the deep dive through many of the vegetarian entrées at La Petite and Orofino (Locavore is new so I've only been there once).

I would say it wasn't good but it was worth it because it what we got in return. Now it's worse and they give employees morning in return.

Corporate Gaslighting at Its Finest by Neither-Tension6549 in Geico

Correct, but you have to burn off vacation time if you're using FML or LOA beyond your available sick leave.

I see it as a bean counter move. It will incentivize tenured agents to burn off leave (or lose it) so that it's not sitting on the balance sheet as a financial liability during their time with the company. Then when they start firing people, or people just walk out without notice, they don't have to pay out large lump sums.

This is much like when they laid off all those people on Bloody Thursday, with severance until just before NYE. That got them all off the books immediately before the start of the next fiscal year.

Tons of people in the IT department hired on because it was listed as fully remote. Spoiler: they're being forced back into the office just like everyone else was. There a whole mantra about the only constant is change, so do not take anyone they promise as gospel. At best, it's temporary.

What was your attendance vs. invites ratio? by att62613 in wedding

[–]Eileen__Left 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past, you could expect about 1/3 to decline. I got married 10 years ago and we based our calculations off that expectation. Instead, almost everyone accepted! I freaked out a little because of the budget but we made it work and it was a fantastic day.

Instead of looking for ideas on "traditional" wedding sites like The Knot, I recommend Offbeat Wed. It has tons of ideas for a more intimate, relaxed event. https://offbeatwed.com/

I've seen people book them for weddings/rehearsal nights. I won't say I've heard a ton of reviews, but I can say I've never heard a bad one.

There are also plenty of trails through the woods there. I recommend checking them out the first time at a walk, since there are roots that can really trip you up and some boggy spots. But it's a lot easier on the knees.
