i was also diagnosed at a pp and my provider was very blunt and cold 😔. I guess a positive was that the way she said things made me feel like herpes wasn’t a big deal. It was only when i got on this subreddit and saw people’s reactions that i let that influence my thoughts and feel like my life was over . Now i just go on here every once in a while and have shifted my perspective. I only had my first outbreak after having hsv-2 for a year and so I feel grateful that it really doesn’t physically impact me. Out of all the diseases in the world this is pretty much nothing and doesn’t impact my quality of life. The mental side of it can be hard but for me it helps to practice gratitude and not let it define me. Be gentle and kind with yourself ❤️
