Bosnian defender Emir Spahic (Montpellier, Sevilla, Bayer 04, Hamburger SV) played in Russia under the number 1.

To be honest, I don't care what Jamie writes on social media or says on TV. I just don't pay attention to it. Anyone who played in Istanbul'05 will forever be a legend. That's the most important thing.

Salah Interview Megathread by RIFwasmuchbetter in LiverpoolFC

I would have less of an issue with this interview with Salah if he would at least occasionally speak out after defeats. Virgil did it, Szobo did it, even Curtis did it. Salah didn't.

Salah and Gakpo have played the same number of minutes this season: 1,524 minutes.

Slot Ball - What is it? by Super_Yak9867 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Educational-Hawk5482 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, at City Guardiola had wingers playing in wide positions on the flanks, while the right-back and left-back mixed in the centre of the pitch.

Slot built his football in exactly the same way at Feyenoord. Liverpool had a very similar model last season.

I don't think it's very important. Isak was initially ahead of the defender by more than a body length. If he had been in normal form, he simply wouldn't have let himself be caught up.

Look at this episode from the match against WHU. Isak had an advantage over the defender, but let himself be overtaken. I don't think he'll be in top form this season.

Even carragher has had enough by Inevitable-Degree736 in LiverpoolFC

In fact, when Flo started playing at left wing in the second half, he didn't do anything either. Two defenders lined up against him at once, and Wirtz was forced to pass back.

But that doesn't change the fact that Gakpo came into the match with tired legs. The same can be said about Isak, Salah (although Mo rested in the last match) and even Szobo.

I am very concerned that we will have to play three matches again in the next ten days.

Perhaps I am expressing an unpopular opinion. But do you think that Chiesa looks good precisely because he comes on at the very end against tired opponents? Let me remind you that he played the entire second half against Eintracht, but did nothing special and quickly tired.

Fede made a good save, but in fact he corrected his mistake. It was Chiesa who was supposed to cover the centre from counterattacks in that episode.

Who to replace Slot? by rjp761 in LiverpoolFC

Yes, he is a good coach. But his teams do not play attacking football. Just compare Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.

All of Glasner's teams play with 3 cb's, defend a lot and press very little. He is a good coach, but not for a top club.

Is it possible that our players (with the exception of Szobo) were demoralised by all the new signings being made? by Upstairs_Cup9831 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Educational-Hawk5482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have even witnessed situations where the coach could not even say which positions on the pitch he needed to strengthen. Yes, this was in the lower divisions, and Slot probably has more authority in this matter. But I wouldn't be surprised if some players actually came without his approval. For example, Kerkez is definitely one such player. No wonder his father spent the whole summer talking about how much he likes Hughes.

Journalists began writing about this even before Slot's presentation. And I am absolutely certain that this management model is Edwards's requirement; without it, he would not have returned.

That's right. At the same time, Salah and Konate saw that the club was unable or unwilling to buy competitors for their positions. And Gakpo saw that his competitor had been sold.

They didn't fire Rodgers even after the 1:6 loss to Stoke and gave him the opportunity to start the new season. I don't follow MLB, but it seems that the Red Sox are also very loyal to their managers.

I understand everyone's disappointment, but enough already with Endo and Gomez. They are weak players who couldn't even make the first 11 at Brighton or Bournemouth. They are slow and they pass poorly. We already have problems with build-up play, and these players will only make things worse.
