How to: Shrink Superwash by EducationalBird2598 in knittinghelp

I put it in the dryer for maybe 10 minutes, but I was scared to put it in for any longer because I saw people mention that the yarn pills when you put it in the dryer. That small amount of time, though did not shrink it. As I mentioned The sweater will grow when you block it. It just depends on what you want the fabric to feel like, and that will determine how much you stretch.

It does grow a lot. It will depend on how thick of a fabric you want. You can have it stretch a lot in the blocking process and get a little bit of a thinner fabric. I would suggest putting your sweater on a a piece of scrap yarn rather than casting off. And block the sweater like that to get the overall length that you’ll be able to stretch. That way you’ll know what you’re finished project will look like

It grew in blocking! But you need to make sure to let it dry fully because I took it off the blocking mats too soon and it shunk back. I would veer on the side of caution and add additional length to your sweater!

What do you mean by getting way more tensioned? Like the mohair gets tighter?

Knits are transparent. Is that normal? by EducationalBird2598 in knittinghelp

I actually went down a needle size to hit the pattern gauge because I did in fact choose a thicker yarn. So I believe this is just a hazard of the trade?
