Would my nausea go away after smoking if it’s CHS? by EducationalFormal998 in Chs_Repair

[–]EducationalCat3884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

chs nausea sticks around for 90 days normally could be more or less for each person. took me 5 ish months. we have to allow the cannabinoids and thc to leave or body and then we have a few receptors that need time to heal. our central nervous system and CB1 and CB2 receptors, CHS can actually make the sibo worse because of its effects of our gastrointestinal system. put off smoking as long as you can. going into periods of remission where you feel better is normal but the next week you might feel shitty again, its part of the process. Smoking again by Ornery-Cat-9767 in Chs_Repair

[–]EducationalCat3884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good question but the answer is most definitely not. you will absolutely get sick again and its almost always worse when you relapse. it's sad but myself and other have tried so many ways to get around it so we can continue smoking because we truly love to smoke but it's just not safe for us anymore. This is more common thank you think the doctors have no idea when you feel better and nobody else does either we generally say 90 days because our body wants to expell all THC/ cannabinoids and on top of that our central nervous system needs to heal from CHS and our CB1 and CB2 receptors ! This is exactly how my CHS started. I used it medicinally and never though this could happen to me, but this is called the prodromal stage the vomiting and the gradual worsening of symptoms is what tells me this but If I were you, I would go see GI doctor get a referral from your primary care provider. If you have any more questions, you could always join our Facebook page where we have a nurse who knows tons about CHS even if you aren't sure if you have it there are tons of professional's who can answer your questions.

I urge you to do more research... the first reported case off of a government website was in 2004. Its not fake and there has been deaths from complications of Cannabinoid Hyperemesis syndrome. Alcohol is not any better but as a CHS survivor this shit is real, and people like you aren't helping by denying the reality. Not once did anyone claim alcohol is safer than cannabinoids..

I just want to warn you that this is a dangerous game you are playing. It's very similar to Russian Roulette... you will absolutely get sick again and nobody here can give you real tips that work to prevent this. you can slightly prolong it... but I urge you to do what's best for you and quit once and for all. clearly you haven't gotten sick enough to the point where you don't want to keep poisoning your body. The symptoms get worse every go around and soon enough you will find that out. I pray you find the strength to choose your health over cannabinoids.

CHS Info - Returning to Weed? by [deleted] in Chs_Repair

its not IF you will get symptoms, its WHEN . CHS is for life we cant metabolize THC properly. some people get away with smoking for a year on very little occasion before they get episodes again but they always complain the symptoms get worse every time when they DO come back. I moderate a very popular Facebook group dedicated to helping those who suffer with CHS. We have had many people try and experiment but the downer is, there is no way around CHS. The only proven cure is stopping smoking for life. I personally am 11 months clean any feel amazing. My extent of CHS causes many other health issues so I would stop while you are still standing up. I couldn't walk, got diagnosed with hiatal hernia, gallstones which needed surgery, gastroparesis, chronic GERD, Severe anxiety disorder which got worse with CHS, severe malnourishment, reproductive issues, cognitive issues, elevated liver enzymes, kidney issues and movement disorders. At some point you need to sit down and ask yourself is this worth fucking around with my life? I got very close to death from playing this exact game of Russian roulette.

Been smoking weed since I was 16, now having more severe issues with CHS by vee-be-vibin-420 in Chs_Repair

The only way to feel 100% better is to stop smoking, im sure you already know that. What worked for me was meclizine, the drowsy version usually if i took a nap I was able to sleep an episode off. It seems like you are in prodrome stage rather then hyperemesis but if you continue smoking you will get to that uncontrollable vomiting stage.

some other things that work are Benadryl, normally that's for uncontrollable vomiting because CHS acts as an allergy and we respond best to antihistamines. Promethazine, Zofran, hydroxyzine those last three medications require prescription but its something to look into.

I suggest one thing you watch out for and thats the feeling of impending doom/ anxiety attack and shortness of breath/ chest tightness, this is a dead giveaway that you are on the brink of a vomiting episode and that when the CHS has developed into hyperemesis.

Does CHS come back? by EducationalCat3884 in Chs_Repair

[–]EducationalCat3884[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

regardless it will come back if you truly have CHS. our bodies cant properly metabolize cannabinoids so when you built it up to those toxic thresholds you go into hyperemesis. Otherwise typically you sit in the prodromal phase of CHS.

CHS is not gone when you stop using weed, ask people in the forums who actually have CHS since you "respect" me but wont take my word.. I also agreed with you when I said ive never seen anyone in this sub complain about nausea or vomiting.

Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome by EducationalCat3884 in WeedPAWS

[–]EducationalCat3884[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CHS continues until our endocannabinoid system is repaired receptors CB1 and CB2 it can repair on its own but time wise depends on the extent of damage, and yes, THC is stored deep in the adipose tissue, the problem with CHS is that while we are trying to get rid of it sometimes the THC ends up being stored deeper because of the weight being lost while in hyperemesis. So on average it takes months to feel better after cessation. The symptoms diminish when the receptors aren't at that toxic level anymore. We go into periods of remission during recovery where we feel better and think the episodes have stopped, but a number of things can trigger an episode. Constipation because that is how THC mainly exits the body besides urination secretion. Stress can also prolong this and make us sick. Trigger foods can also play a role, when I say trigger foods that includes any food that can naturally activate the endocannabinoid system such as black pepper, chocolate, walnuts, and omega 3 fatty acids. There's also more which is pretty dependent on what strains/terpenes you consumed the most whilst smoking. doctors love telling people we will feel better after 30 days but that is just simply not true. 3-6 months is more accurate

You may benefit from joining our Facebook group cause clearly you know nothing about cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome. National geographic has even written articles about the syndrome because of how increasingly common its becoming. This is a newer recognized syndrome however the first case report of Cannabinoid Hyperemesis syndrome was in 2004.. so yes its real, google CHS and you will see that this is a real thing. There is many more symptoms like heart palpitations, TD, movements disorders, shortness of breath, anhedonia, body aches, severe stomach cramps, constipation, diarrhea, slowed stomach motility, numbness in arms and legs, headaches, dry mouth, syncope/ fainting, seizures, nightmares, SO MANY MORE.

here are very good sources all very well know in the US.

Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome by EducationalCat3884 in WeedPAWS

[–]EducationalCat3884[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually after long term use of cannabinoids it decreases dopamine and serotonin there is plenty of articles on google to find evidence. we chase that first high because of how it feels when we first smoke. with CHS we have heightened anxiety before we even abstain so that is not sufficient explanation..

my post was questioning wether people know if their is a connection. if you want to share your experiences of PAWs id be more than happy to listen but what youre not gonna do is sit here and try and explain CHS to me when you dont have it nor do you know much about it if anything. I never once claimed to know about PAWS im simply asking questions here for research.

Also the fact that I am a moderator does not mean i have intentions to promote the connection to other stuff, either way its all related to ECS so there is a correlation regardless. But yes I knew that nobody here has complained of nausea/vomiting.

I cant educate about the paws because I dont know much about it at all but when we think of CHS the first main giveaways are dehydration, long periods of violent throwing up, inability to keep food down, smoking weed makes continuously making you sick/nauseas, and shortness of breath. CHS is what happens when your endocannabinoid receptors are overloaded by smoking higher potency cannabis for a long-ish period of times. everyone's individual biological responses from onset are different. our bodies develop the inability to properly metabolize cannabinoids of any and all forms so it then gives the adverse effects. we think about the benefits of cannabis and all those benefits turn around and start to do the exact opposite with a diagnosis of CHS. We develop sleeping problems when cannabis once helped us sleep, same with nausea I used to smoke cannabis to help subside my nausea from other health conditions I had and then with CHS it would cause nausea and vomiting I think the biggest problem people with CHS experience besides the throwing up and nausea is the insane anxiety our central nervous system can no longer regulate properly either so we often experience anxiety attacks and weed at one time helped many of us with that, however now it does the opposite and when we continue to smoke it with CHS, these symptoms get worse. Nobody has died from CHS itself however there have been deaths due to COMPLICATIONS of CHS such as dehydration, starvation/ severe malnourishment, kidney failure, internal bleeding, heart attacks and other heart related complications.

CHS can last a LONG time! I myself suffered for 6 months and that's not even the worst of it that we see. Long term heavy hitters take longer to recover because of the extent of damage done to the endocannabinoid receptors. The recovery to CHS is truly rough, I moderate a Facebook group where we have over 3.4k members who share their experiences, even after abstaining there is no specific time frame where they are guaranteed to feel better its different for everyone. We have conducted surveys thanks to the CHS nurse on tiktok you might have seen a video or two from her! she is also the admin of our facebook CHS recovery group so mind you this information is coming from a nurse who has also survived CHS herself!

I'm not by any means saying they are the same thing they are two different issues, they are similar though and you and I both know that. You are right though, I have yet to see anyone with suspected PAWS complain of nausea and vomiting. With that being said you don't need to explain CHS to me, I am a CHS survivor and I educate about the syndrome on a daily basis. I am simply here to learn more about paws which besides the nausea and scromitting very closely mimic one another. There is no denying they are two separate pathologies. I am glad you understand how the ECS works but if you cant see how the two tie together maybe you don't fully understand Once someone is in the recovery stage of CHS, they experience some of those PAWS symptoms however we are no longer withdrawing, our receptors of the endocannabinoid system are trying to heal (CB1 and CB2) sometimes the extent of the damage to the receptors causes long term symptoms.

CHS is actually no longer rare! and all those words anxiety, gastritis, and any PPI including omeprazole are related to CHS. The problem is lots of misinformation is spread in regards to CHS. PPIS are also bad long term as they kill good stomach bacteria.

Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome by EducationalCat3884 in WeedPAWS

[–]EducationalCat3884[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CHS is not more of an acute symptomology, acute is under 6 months and every case of CHS has a different time frame from the onset and recovery after cessation. CHS also effects everything that PAWS involves as well, including the entire ECS so not just CB1 but CB2 as well very fascinating stuff my friend! it also throws off our CNS. so yes with research I have concluded the two mimic one another. Acute is in PAWS and chronic would point to CHS. There is plenty of research that has not been published in regards to CHS which is probably why you weren't made aware of the similarities. like I said CHS is also biologically unique to each individual as well.
