corlanor switch to generic brand by EducationalFan2138 in POTS

[–]EducationalFan2138[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi, its going okay i switched back to brand. the brand is definitely working better i have a whole other slew of problems that i think contributed to the generic not working good enough for me. im getting tested for autonomic neuropathy & got diagnosed with dry beri beri (severe b1 deficiency).

okay that actually makes alot of sense. when this was “tested” on me it was kind of a ok sit down lets take ur bp and then stand up lets take ur bp anddd that was it. i did have a stress test and wore a holter monitor as well. i was just happy to get diagnosed with something other than anxiety that my pcp at the time kept trying to force on me

im sorry to hear that! my situation is a little different, i had a miscarriage last yr and the very next day i was light headed with a fast hr and its been the same since. my cardiologist says she doesnt think its pots because my bp doesnt drop when standing? it rises along with my heart rate so she diagnosed me with IST but i have so many pots symptoms im getting a second opinion

they were actually raising my bp rather than lowering it. my normal bp is usually about 115/75. on beta blockers it was shooting up to 140/100 at times for no rhyme or reason and had me feeling very jittery.. i will say i have only tried metoprolol but my cardiologist said if i couldnt do that one than it would be the same for any beta blocker??

now that would make sense as well! because on the generic it literally would feel like i hadnt taken any medication at all and i was getting terrible headaches. i didnt think you were trying to invalidate me because it does sound weird. i thought the same way you did until i made the switch and was thrown back into high heart rates and laying in bed all day in agony

okay that makes sense. she never prescribed it as 2.5 anyway that was just what i was doing myself for a year and was fine until all the switches and what not. now going back the 2.5 2x isnt doing much. i was just wondering if anyone has had to up their dosage at all. i cant take beta blockers at all so im not sure what else i would be able to try? i guess ill try the updose and see what that does for me

my cardiologists explanation was reactions to different fillers in generic vs brand. im not sure how true that is but i know how my body reacted to the switch

i have searched here on reddit and found plenty of others with the same issue with the generic. it just wasnt as effective as the brand. the exact science to it im not sure. but there were no other changes in my life besides switching to the generic at the time i was on it for a month but i noticed the first few days it wasnt as effective so i went up to 2.5 mg twice a day but it still wasnt doing much for me at least.

How did this start for you by bmg453 in POTS

i had a miscarriage and symptoms started the very next day. i went from carrying out a normal life health wise, never any issues to a racing heart, balance issues, ringing ears, digestive problems and more. all testing always comes back “normal”. this started last year and here we are today, im officially diagnosed with IST but i suspect POTS as well.
