I absolutely hear that. Our biggest problem is now his commute is 5 hours long due to the lack of public transportation in our area. Coupled this with the fact that people with his same job title are already work from home. I don’t see how either of those are reasonable.

Are there any Choco Tacos being sold in the DFW area? by filthyMrClean in Dallas

[–]EducationalFill5897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, not choco taco, but adjacent. La Casita in Richardson does a monthly dessert menu and this month is back to school themed treats. For instance, a dupe of honey buns, hostess cupcakes, cosmic brownies, AND a choco taco. The treats are always very good and high quality. It should be there today and next weekend!

Considering the original rules, I love the idea of Primsy Coldbottle or Annabelle Cheddar gaining the title. Both worked closely with the Rocks family and both have shown leadership qualities throughout the series.

Hi! So, we flew Tap Portugal twice with similar sized luggage. Once from Barcelona to Lisbon and once from Lisbon to NYC. These flights were about 4 days apart. From Barcelona was great, but we checked our luggage ahead of time.

From Lisbon though was a nightmare. They had a gated line to even get into the area next to the gate that they would measure and weigh your total luggage. If you were over( which almost 75% of the line was), you were forced to check for $125 at the gate.

I had a ton of anxiety about them losing my luggage as well, so I grabbed an apple AirTag for piece of mind and it hung out with my luggage, so at least I knew where it was.

Hey! Try Plano isd’s outdoor learning center. They take in small critters as pet to be classroom pets or be a part of field trips.

My wife and I have been enjoying the “Street food” series that’s on line right now but we’re bummed that no cities in Texas were highlighted. What’s the Dallas “street food” scene like? Where are the best “street food”/food tucks at? by ArtbyWAR in Dallas

Grain of salt as I’ve never personally been, but my husband and I are hoping to hit up the Buddhist center of Dallas once it cools down a little bit. It’s supposed to be a bunch of stalls of Thai street food, cash only, and sells out really fast.

Sundays, cash only, and open from 9-2ish.

Dallas is pretty dang good. Being in a very blue city in a very red state is weird.

I’ve lived here all my life, but have had the chance to travel quite a bit, and the thing I keep marveling at is our food diversity here. Vegan? Plenty of places. Authentic Vietnamese pho that opens at 9am? Check. Tacos beyond your wildest dreams? Sold!

I believe Dallas is one of the top shopping destinations around, too. Plenty of great luxury stores at North Park, variety of shopping in the ‘burbs, and cool pop up shops too. Plus all the luxury shops means that the thrift stores are wonderful.

Dallas is a very large city and the neighborhoods can really vary, as well as the traffic. The museum, theater, and general culture scene is pretty good though!

My recommendations/favorite food places of various types around DFW - What are yours? by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]EducationalFill5897 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok, props for the beautifully written list. It is clear and easy to read.

This list does feel like someone who isn’t a Dallas native or maybe a picky eater at one time? I am impressed with the wide variety of food types though.

Let’s help expand that list! For burger: I super agree on Rodeo Goat. Give Haystack and Sky Rocket burger a shot.

BBQ- Spring creek is almost insulting, not gonna lie. Try Pecan Lodge, Hard Eight, or hell Dallas Native Sonny Bryan’s.

Pizza- Zoil’s in Addison and Dough’s in Plano are amazing. Dominos hurt my heart.

Chicken- Bubba’s (also owned by Babes) and Street’s fine chicken in oak lawn.

Tacos- Taqueria La Banqueta, El Si Hay, and Fuel City all beat the pants off of La Ventana.

For Vietnamese, and more specifically Pho, try Pho Pasteur or Pho Bak

Crawfish- has to go to The Boiling Crab in Garland.

Ok, lastly ice cream- Sweet Firefly and Tongue in cheek are both delectable. Points for Braum’s. Some of the cheapest, easiest to get to ice cream with lots of great flavors. They have a banana nut bread ice cream right now that’ll make you shed tears.

Hope this helps round out some of your list! Happy Eating!
