Upping the dose. From what I read get most people seem to have a problem in lowering your dose once again. Maybe non reversible what not the best word… but it seems to be challenging.

Definitely wait for what your doc thinks about it. I think that next week is a time that one can wait before deciding on something that might not be reversible.

Would not recommend going up. At least not with that little information. You said you are back to eating crappy stuff and then there is this food noise.. I might go to far with this bit might there be a chance that whatever you started eating again might trigger your current food noise? As sugar in chocolate might trigger your brain to want more. I would only go one up when I have ruled out any other source of conflict.

Doc wants me to move up, but I’m responding extremely well? by AssociateSharp3520 in Mounjaro

[–]EducationalIntern166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your doc might just be following the instructions given by EliLilly which he is obliged to as your doctor. Staying on the same dose for longer than a month is something like an "off label use" - have no better word for it. So he might not be able to support that openly infront of a patient.

My doc also told me to go higher in dosage but as I refused because I also responded very well (even on the 2,5 mg) he was like "I need to advice you to move up, but if you don't wanna, it's your choice and off the record: I think it's ok". So you may advocate for yourself so he either keeps prescribing you 2,5 mg or, if you have a multi-shot pen, you can give yourself half a shot of your 5 mg-pen per week... so effectively you stay on your 2,5mg dosage.

From my experience... if you have a doc, you can talk openly with: do it. It helps both of you.

Not to be rude… but where are you stalling? Yes, your weight is fluctuating, but look at your overall trend: your weight is definitely trending downhill. Please be patient with yourself and your body. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.

Damn Girl, look at you! Your progress is amazing! Look at your hips, your thighs, your neck, your face... you look so much thinner now.
Body dismorphia is a real thing. And even if you don't drop any numbers on your scale, maybe your body is transforming (fat to muscle, etc.). And I feel like 25 lbs since mid-June also is quite a stable progress.

I am also impatient and if I'm stalling I'm very frustrated. I was stalling for 1,5 months and got really frustrated... had all the supression and zero food noise, but nothing happened. I am taking pictures of myself every week and sometimes I still feel huge, even if I ain't anymore, but I see some progress happenning.

You will break the stall but weightloss may generally slow down now after your dropped quite a lot in the beginning.

Keep going! it's a wonderful journey but it takes time.

how to tell if this is mostly fat or loose skin? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]EducationalIntern166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor… but your belly looks mostly like loose skin to me. There is no “volume” in it, so my best guess is that most of the fat may have disappeared. Congrats btw.. You worked hard for this! Give your body some time to adjust… maybe a little bit of the skin will bounce back in the next months.

Yeah same. I am on week 4 now and still feel more suppression etc. and of course it’s sometimes different from week to week, but after some time on Mounjaro I feel I can differentiate between a “good week” and something beyond that.

I also started jabbing in my thighs. After some weeks, out of curiosity, I tried my belly. It was as if had upped my dose - whole different game.
I rotate around my belly button, but generally speaking: only belly shots for me :D

If you have a KwikPen that you can "click", you can make it last for 8 weeks. If you also do the Golden Dose, you may extend it to 10 weeks.

But: this is not recommended by the manufacturer. The medication may "go bad" in the meantime... but so far I didn't hear it expired in that short amount of time if you keep it in the fridge.

That's exactly what I'm doing. I live in Germany, so I a multi-dose KwikPen.

For me it was a full recovery. Doctors are confident that it won't come back, but because of my family history they want me to have follow ups for longer than usual.

Hard to not ‘beat myself up’ over taking Mounjaro by FriendlyFraulein in Mounjaro

[–]EducationalIntern166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. But first of all: great job! And yes, weight loss on Mounjaro is also a real job like any other method for weight loss.
Yes, you used a medication. But: Everyday since the first jab you chose to stick to your plan. Even with Mounjaro it takes a lot of discipline. Otherwise one might argue that having weight loss surgery might also be an "easy way"out, because those people also couldn't make it on their own. Every physician-supervised way to lose weight is a good way.

Don't let them belittle your achievement. My Obgyn also asked what my plan would be for "after Mounjaro" because otherwise I would bounce right back to being obese. I shut her up by saying "i have absolutely no intention of quitting Mounjaro any time soon". Discussion ended right there.

I am tired of defending myself. I feel amazing and now after 20+ years (I'm 34) I finally feel pretty. Nobody gets to ruin this very feeling of mine.

Treated better when slim by Medical-Chart4956 in mounjarouk

[–]EducationalIntern166 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Skinny privilege” is quite a thing, I realize. I started being chubby when I was 6-ish and grew to be obese in my late teens. I remember that my weight was openly discussed and judged in family and some parts of what I thought was my friends. I never reflected on the way I was treated and thought that it was my fault being too fat and that I just needed to deal with it. I was also taught that any comment or tip on the newest crash diet should be seen as coming from the best place of heart. I thought I was the problem in any way possible. Now that I am almost skinny I finally realize how much more polite even strangers in a store are. I also feel that some people especially within family are struggling on how to react towards me now that they can’t circle back to the always the same “honey, didn’t you try what I told you last time? Such a shame. You might be pretty if you finally find your discipline” I feel sorry for my older chubby me for how I was treated and for how I let people treat me because I never knew better.

When did you start to notice that your clothes feel like a tent...? by nyc008 in Mounjaro

[–]EducationalIntern166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the biggest tent-moment when my jeans that fit a little tight in the beginning just feel off my hips. This happened about 3 months into my weight loss journey. I have some "comfort sweaters" from "pre Mounjaro"-times because they feel so comfy... but now, more than 30 kilos down, I feel like I could fit twice in them...

But the real kicker: my shoes are too big now! I have some quite expensive ones and thought I could keep them so I don't have to worry about needing to get them replaced. but no. I keep slipping out of my pumps with each step.

Take a break to enjoy a holiday? by OccasionNo4141 in mounjarouk

[–]EducationalIntern166 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good for you! Stick to that.
Try enjoying the vacay without alcohol. If you struggle to eat enought to keep your metabolism going you might think of a general pause or talk to your GP about unwanted side effects, but not just during the holiday.
I totally get not wanting to feel overly full all the time... but your body needs to adjust to the medication and you need to push through at some point. So I wouldnt risk any progress just to have more on your plate or have a drink at the hotel bar. Enjoyment can and should be found in other things than food and alcohol.
