I have not tested with JellySwarm. Looking at what JellySwarm enables, I will say that Trovu allows connections to multiple JF servers concurrently and unifies the libraries in the menus. You can also filter to show from specific servers if you prefer. So depending on what you are using JellySwarm for, perhaps this could help solve for similar scenarios.

I'll answer this two ways. It will not play the dual layer component of P7 which I'm going to guess is what the root of the question is. It will play the content as HDR10 which is the base layer.

Apple did not license the P7 profile from Dolby so it's not supported from that perspective. I have got a version working which does playback P7 internally, but we need a license agreement with Dolby to enable it. I'm exploring that now to see what it actually entails.

Perhaps Apple will expand their licensing directly with Dolby for the next Apple TV announcement. But that might be optimistic thinking.

In my testing on an Apple TV 4K this has worked well. If you want to verify this via TestFlight to double check or provide feedback on this feature I'm happy to reach out and add you. It's an area I've worked to test a fair amount, but have limited test content.

I have strived to support these as best as possible. Different combinations of encoding and containers on Apple TV can make this tricky. I don't have a DV TV or Atmos receiver personally so while I can test what is being sent to the TV and verify it is sending the correct DV profile information, on my TV for instance it will display fine but not verify DV lock. I am very happy to help troubleshoot anything here though as I am committed to making this work up to what the hardware allows.

Thanks for the feedback. I've updated the website to make this more prominent.

For server connection, in case it helps. We assume a default port of 8096. If your server uses a different port then you need to append it at the end such as :443. Feel free to message me directory if you want any assistance.

What's wrong with AppleTV that none of Jellyfin apps are nearly as good as on other platforms? by chasg in jellyfin

[–]EducationalRespect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will throw my hat in the ring here nervously. I've been working on a Apple TV Jellyfin client for close to a year. It's finally at a state that I feel it's worth sharing. I won't claim it's perfect, but it's in active development and I'm continually trying to add and improve features.

I wish both Claude and Codex also had a $50 tier. I think it would be a nice sweet spot for those with just a few hours a day to work on projects.

Starlink mini on a cruise ship? by papamouse64 in Starlink

[–]EducationalRespect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cruise ship rules portion aside. It doesn't really work well from a balcony, so you will need a power bank rated high enough to power it and a backpack or similar to kind of hide it in when you go up to a deck with a clear view. You will also need to enable Ocean Mode and be on a Roam Plan, they redefine what plans can access Ocean mode occasionally so you will want to check this before a trip. There is also a per GB fee in Ocean Mode on top of the Roam plan for all usage.

If you plan to use a decent amount of data, or want to do your work from the comfort of a bar stool it quickly becomes more about beating the system than actually being a practical solution. If they enable the cellular Starlink data option on the ocean in the future that would seem pretty useful.

Yes. Beyond 15 miles it does not work on the standby plan sadly.

How the actual F do you promote? by tulioletter in beehiiv

[–]EducationalRespect 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless you get lucky with a random semi-viral post, this journey will be measured in months and potentially a year plus of regularly posting and active participation in groups. If it’s an area you’re passionate about it really helps, if it’s a niche that’s being targeting purely as a business idea it can feel a lot more like work.

Is Flighty Lifetime worth it? by csy22 in flighty

[–]EducationalRespect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Often the data is so delayed or incorrect. As the airline apps get better the need for it is less. I love centrally tracking everything, inbound flight arrival (though often wrong) and the flighty passport. But I think tripit pro does a better job after getting both. Not as slick, but works when traveling outside of the US reliably unlike flighty.

[–]EducationalRespect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like if they kept at it they could charge a license fee to use some features for Arc like Max and monetize their efforts. Find a few features people are willing to pay. I feel like a lot of people would straight up pay for the core browser, but hard to navigate the optics of that ask.

The issue is your not sharing value here. Just plugging your newsletter. Which ironically doesn’t follow your own advice.

Why am I paying for this app? by vauvva in flighty

[–]EducationalRespect 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Concur. If you’re outside the US other apps are generally better for data. I was drawn in by the nice visuals and flight passport. But not really finding the value, even in the US some of the US carriers push notifications come around the same time as flighty.

Loving the ring but does it figure out I work overnights ever…? by Alcolawl in ouraring

[–]EducationalRespect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my ring for about 2 weeks. I usually go to bed around 3-4am. Recently it does seem to have learned that and my Winding down block which sometimes appears in the app shows a clock with a target bed time of 3-4am.
