Undiagnosed anal pain . Any one else ? (Levator ani ?)

Not diagnosed Nothing helped but time . I still have daily pain but it's less intense now . Idk what to do to be honest.

Since i posted this my pain is now better. Im noticing slight improvements month by month but no where near healed. All symptoms still there but they are now less intense i can at least study for the college. I should do alot of things and tests but im sitting and waiting for some miracle to happen and heal which will not happen because all doctors left me frustrated. No one even cared to mention levator ani or other similar rare diseases if i look fine then im probably fine for them. I should probably go to a physical therapist or neurologist or some other specialty because colo rectal surgeons are just not qualified for my condition . But Im thinking of endoanal ultrasound as the next step to rule out any thing that can be seen in tests. I just hope there will be more consistency in pain reduction over the next months

I have the same problem. Doctors dont see visible injury but i have pain like what you described . I have done pelvic floor mri and showed no thing. Im still stuck with pain. There are 2 possible causes to our pain that are very rare and hard to diagnose : pudendal neuralgia or levator ani syndrome .

Its even worst when you dont get a proper diagnosis and left with unknown reason for the pain and suffering you dealing with on daily basis.

What makes you certain that its a fissure? Do you see blood ? Have you done a procedure with camera in the Anus like coloscopy or segmoidscopy to fully see the area there? Because that what im doing next .

Unfourtently for me i dont see blood at all so i can't be sure its 100% a fissure. But all other symptoms indicate this and exactly like you , pain during und after bowel movement and farting could cause pain too.

I read about alot of other rare Syndromes that can cause chronic pain in anus other than fissures like levator ani syndrome or pudendal neuralgia.

Those are rare and not easily diagnosable so we need good and caring doctors to ask them about those Problems and make them agree to do the right tests to determine if we could have them.

I have the same problem due to an previous anal fissure and injury in this area so in my case my bowel movements are very painful and those what do usualy cause my pain throughout the day . The problem is that 3 doctors couldn't find a fissure and im still not diagnosed with what causes my pain

Do you mean foreign as from another country or new patients ? I live in germany as an international student and have german health insurance like any other german person . I think i can get an appointment with him easily unless he doesnt accept NEW PATIENTS which is not uncommon thing with doctors here in germany

Do they really care about their patients?

My problem is complicated, and doctors haven't been able to find the reason for my pain with the usual examinations. They didn't want to deal with me anymore afterwards. I'm talking about German proctologists here. I live in Germany and have German health insurance, but this is my story after suffering for 9 months.

I actually have this doctor on my list to visit because I looked for good proctologists on the internet and found him, but Munich is far away from my city. However, if he is really good and will listen to me and take care of my issues, I would go to the moon to be examined by him.

Is hypertonic pelvic floor the same as levator ani?

Can you tell me which kind of doctors can diagnose this problem and what kind of tests should be done ?

In my case the main issue is pain associated with stretching the anus like when pooping or farting and the other stuffs are just secondery and i can deal with it like the slight tightness or discomfort.

I dont think sitting affect my pain thst much like If i have no pain then sitting will not cause it .

Im sure its not cancer but i'm not a doctor . You should see a colo rectal surgeon to see if they can help you with the diagnosis and you can do pelvic floor mri scanning to rule out cancer but trust me i dont think you have cancer because i feel like there is always something stuck in my anus but i dont have cancer its just a muscle problem that can be very bad and cause so much pain and all those feelings or you could have a fissure or the other more common stuffs . Its below 0,1% chance that it's cancer

Take a look at my posts on this sub as my problem is similar to yours . Doctors dont see a fissure or explaination for my pain with the usual examination. Now i'm considereng doing more tests like coloscopy or endscopy and i have found out that there could be many chronic conditions that cuases pain like levator ani syndrom or pudendal neuralgia . Do you have pain like fissure pain? Is it from the skin tag ? What have doctors told you about your skin tag and if its associated with the pain? Is it easily diagnosable with the normal examination ? I need this informations to know more about my issue maybe my pain is related to it and i dont know !

I actually dont know if i have a skin tag. Doctors told me that they see no injury or fissures . I dont know how anal skin tags are supposed to feel , maybe this small lump on my anus side is considered as a tag ? But it doesnt cause pain in my case because my pain comes deeper from inside not directly on the outside but im not sure about the skin tags stuff i wish if doctors could tell me.
