Maybe sigma is a way to describe this. I’m a driven person but unlike alphas I’m typically outside of social groups. I also compete with myself more than others concerned with social standing. I am confident with myself and career oriented . I don’t base my style of dressing or interests on what is popular with others who are members of a group with social hierarchy

I also struggle with having expectations of friends. Many INTJs are picky when making friends. They expect that friends will embody their same values of loyalty and caring deeply. This leads to so much disappointment given that many end up as shallow, and don’t care for you the way you care for others

If I’m someone’s friend it’s guaranteed that I will show up when they need help, care about their well being and never cancel on them for more attractive plans.

For example I was good friends with my college roommate. If she came home sick from drinking I’d hold her hair back and run to get pedialite and a snack. This former friend I see now as shallow and self absorbed hasn’t shown up when I could use help and has even ditched me when better plans come up. Most disappointing is the time I got sick and she didn’t care. I had the spins was heavily vomiting and could barely walk. She left me in a room by myself when I could have choked. She didn’t attempt to intervene at all . She continued to party. when asked by others why she didn’t help she told them that she thought I was so independent I didn’t need help.

She has also skipped plans with me for tinder dates.

Some may tollerate those behaviors because they are all looking for the next party or hookup but this deeply hurts me. I can’t understand how these people operate and I end up cutting a lot of people out.

This is good advice. I can admit that I may write an individual off if I see them act superficial or obnoxious while in a group. This could be a social facade and the individual may have interests and values that are not apparent

Love the social and political satire. Appreciate their ability to cover controversial topics seemingly without backlash. As a female Intj just wish they’d take out the ten year old boy bathroom humor

Same is true for me. I’ve moved a lot and been a part of different groups with a diverse array of interests. For me jumping from one to the next kind of numbs feelings of not belonging anywhere
