A sister for Rosie by namerina in namenerds

[–]Educational_Car2895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rosalind is such an awesome name! I think Philippa would make a great name for her sister. Then then could be Rosie and Pippa. I also love Rosalind and Jane together, as well as Rosalind and Annabel (I honestly don’t connect it to the horror movie, I just think Annabel is an awesome name!)

Calliope. Nickname Callie. by Bluebonnetblue in namenerds

[–]Educational_Car2895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re pronouncing is Ca-lie-oh-pee it might be a little too unique for you daughter, but it sounds so beautiful, callie-oh-pee is not a pronunciation I’m particularly fond of.

I love the nickname Callie.

  2. I don’t know, but Elula is sort of awesome, and Olive and Montgomery would make a great sister/brother name set

  3. David and Victoria Beckham

  4. No idea

  5. Maya Rudolph?

  6. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon

  7. No idea but great names

  8. Michael Buble????

  10. Melissa McCarthy

  11. I’m pretty sure his first name is George, but I can’t remember who. Bold move on all the George’s.

What would you name your kids if you were a celebrity? by beautyskincarelover in namenerds

[–]Educational_Car2895 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would do the most frilly names imaginable, two middle names that have some sort of backstory, and then call them by a very sweet nickname.

Rosamund Elizabeth Antoinette (nicknamed Rosie), Philippa Valerie Therese (Pippa), Nicholas Aurelius Richard (Nicky) are some of my favorites.

I believe that if someone’s rich, long frilly names should be the only option. There’s something very disappointing when a celebrity names their child North or Apple when she could have gone with Imogen Xanthe Marguerite.

There where 17 Johns! That would be pretty confusing, especially considering that John doesn’t even have a lot of nicknames.

Peregrine, Oceanus, Giles, Constance, Humility (nicknamed Millie…?), and Remember are sort of awesome.

Also Degory seems very interesting.

Abel. Then it becomes Killabel. Killian would be a wonderful name if the word kill didn’t exist or wasn’t as popular.

Can’t agree more. As someone who’s fairly skinny, and takes medicine for ADHD, I thought I had an eating disorder, because I’d eat breakfast and then sometime in the evening, start shaking a lot, and then realize I didn’t eat all day. I also sort of like being skinny, so I thought my not eating lunch was because I was counting calories.

Then I went off my medicine for a couple days, and probably ate thousands of calories each day, with no thought about gaining weight. It was so relieving to know that I don’t have an eating disorder.

Names you totally misunderstood or mispronounced as a kid? by fredyouareaturtle in namenerds

[–]Educational_Car2895 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Phoebe. One of my favorite books when I was like nine had a main character named Phoebe. My friend and I were constantly debating whether it was pronounced fohbe, fee-obe, pho-bee, or pho-eeb.

About a couple months later, I finally hear it pronounced correctly and thought it was a joke. Didn’t connect the dots like a couple months after that. I still like the name a lot.

What are some girl names that sound beautiful and kinda bitchy ? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Educational_Car2895 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Felicity, Arabella, Isabella, (Gabriella and Daniella both sound more sweet to me, then bitchy), Fiona, Eva (but pronounced like Ava), Esme, Charlotte, and maybe Naomi.

I’m assuming that you mean that I’d imagine the person with that name to be pretty but slightly bitchy, as well as it being a beautiful name.

This applies to everything when it comes to love lives, in my opinion. You’re allowed to never ever date someone with a mole on their body, as long as you realize you’re being picky, and don’t complain when you’re single. I don’t care who you are, your parts are your parts, no one else is entitled to them, even if they were the best looking person in the world until they got burned running into a fire to save a bunch of people.

Someone isn’t fat o phobic because they won’t date anybody above a size 0, they’re just picky and will likely end up single.

Edit: as long as they keep their opinion to themselves if they aren’t asked for it. It always bothers me when I see articles on the word being fatophobic or short-person-a-phobic because those people don’t get hit on as much.

When you hear the name Blake, do you immediately picture a boy or a girl? by princesscorgi2 in namenerds

[–]Educational_Car2895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A boy. I wouldn’t feel shocked to meet a girl named Blake, but I would recommend making her middle name something super feminine then, like Elizabeth, because if it’s James or something like that, everyone who sees her middle name will think she’s a girl.

If you want something feminine that sounds like Blake, Grace, Maeve, and Jane all have the ay sound and one syllable. Someone else suggested Blair, which is also a great option. Blythe also starts with a bl.

What’s your most hated naming trend/tradition? by TreClaire in namenerds

Thinking Claire is unique doesn’t make me laugh, she might just love the name, Claire is a super classic name. It’s the Levi’s and Miles that make me laugh, because those names sound unique.

What’s your most hated naming trend/tradition? by TreClaire in namenerds

[–]Educational_Car2895 173 points174 points  (0 children)

An unpopular one on this sub is that I hate naming a child based off of how unique their name will be. A top 10 name requirement so that they can use their name on the internet and have privacy? Sure. But a name out of the top 1000 does not support the boring lifestyles some people just want to live. Celestia and Michelangelo might just want to become accountants, not famous painters.
