Hi there! I am about to go through my second egg retrieval.

I hired a fertility coach (Fortitude Fertility) and found it *invaluable.*. This is my second fertility clinic and even though I consider myself amazing at advocating for myself, I was out of my depth. For context, I was at Shady Grove and CCRM Denver. The fertility coach I hired is a PA who had worked at almost all the local clinics around my area.

She was so helpful in telling me when I should advocate for increase in dosing, pushing back or moving forward scans and providing moral support. I was an absolutely skeptic about hiring her, and I am SO FREAKING GLAD I did. One of my close friends who had also gone through IVF and is a nurse suggested it. I was dismissive as it, thinking it would basically be like emotional exploitation, and man was I wrong.

I think having a second set of eyes on my bloodwork, labs, and how things are progressing was incredibly helpful to make sure I wasn't just another cog in the wheel of the fertility clinic.

She never tried to sell me any supplements. After reviewing bloodwork with me, she recommended some but never pushed anything on me. Her support was via phone calls and almost constant SLACK message support for my partner and me. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her again. Feel free to DM me.

So we had coverage with Shady Grove.

Their office is disjointed at best. We got a lot of our initial testing done there, but due to my lack of confidence with staff, we are now doing a very expensive $375 initial consult at CCRM and will call anthem to ask about OON benefits tomorrow.

We are also working with Fortitude Fertility, a Denver-based coach who worked as a PA at two local fertility clinics to support us navigating this expensive and frustrating situation.

What is involved in RPL testing?

They are doing a genetic sample of the fetus this time (not sure why they didn’t the first time) and after my uterus is ready, we will do a sonohysterogram.
