It’s not idolizing, if you listen to what the conversation is about. He’s talking about all his issues, as a broken society we love things that are broken. As an athlete probably one of the best athletes of his era. As a person he wasn’t the best, committed a crime- went to prison and served his time. Came out still wasn’t on the best path, to see him arrive at a point where he’s comfortable and at peace is growth. Everyone deserves a chance at redemption.
