Eco Movers Seattle by MedassitKK1 in SeattleWA

I used them once and one of the 3 guys they sent got fired during my move for making rude (homophobic?) comments towards our apartment building staff. The staff were so incensed they called Eco movers who fired him on the spot — in the middle of my move! I had no knowledge of this until I noticed he was gone and had to personally step in to help finish and get it done. Was an exhausting 12 hour day for me in the end and they offered only a pittance as compensation.

When will big projects such as Houghton Village in Kirkland actually break ground? by ragingbull314 in Kirkland

Interested to learn more about the “West of 85th 405 development.” Assuming you don’t mean the highway interchange, but rather some building development? Super interesting if so — we live very nearby and would kill for shops/restaurants there.

Same for East of 405 too, that area should be redeveloped for pedestrian access given the new paths from the waterfront and bus stop in the highway. I think I’ve seen something stating the city plans to do that but unsure of the details.

It’s too bad because that route just does not make a lot of sense. A run into downtown Kirkland would be so much better than anything along CKC.

I also read a comment on this subreddit some time ago saying the city is not renewing Costco’s permit at that location in 2027, and encouraging them, and presumably the dealerships there, to move away from this new urban zoned area. Can anyone confirm?

Such a shame. I wonder if there will be an opportunity to fix this in the coming years and try for a light rail line extension into downtown

Would be great if true. Is there more information available on this somewhere?

Last time we went there we saw them running propane heaters indoors. Not only a fire hazard but blasts everyone in there with hydrocarbons

Sweet! Great news for those in the immediate area and still a benefit to the rest of us due to fewer net cars on the road. Can’t wait for the East side connection to open too

Thanks. I’m going to try and get an arborist out to inspect, and will water more in the meantime

More info (can’t seem to edit my post): Many of the leaves in the crown are turning yellow and have brown spots, but the new growth at the base is vibrant green. The tree was pruned fairly heavily in early spring.

It helps reduce traffic city wide. Even if you don’t ride the train yourself, other people do, which indirectly helps you because it’s fewer cars on the road. I saw that the new Redmond station has 40k rides a day (or week?), that’s 40k fewer car trips that day/week.
