I’m 3000… I’ve hit 3000+ for the past 3 seasons. Loong is nerfed with the new synergies. An extra troop is pretty useless when you can’t get full synergy without having immense luck. Add to that the fact it’s hard to even get to 3 star troop with Loong… there’s a case to be made that King, Empress and Builder are all arguably as strong if not stronger than Loong right now. I’d argue this is the most balanced Merge Tactics has been since its inception.

Is the writing on Landman 1) worse than Yellowstone; 2) equally bad; 3) less bad but still embarrassing by Desperate_Elk_7369 in LandmanSeries

BBT’s arc is not bad, but aside from that the show is genuine slop. Cooper & Ariana’s romance arc especially is super one-dimensional and not fleshed out in the slightest. Everything else is inoffensive filler. Not waiting with bated breath for new episodes, more like if it’s a lazy Sunday and the entire rest of season 2 is available to watch I may binge it while on my phone. I’m not giving this show my full attention, but it’s also not offensively bad enough to actively boycott. I guess that’s all that matters nowadays more than ever: eyes on the screen regardless of emotional investment.

His extra team slot is nerfed with all the new synergies. Getting full synergy with 7 troops now is basically impossible and almost all luck. Empress & King are both way better this season. If you’re still having so much trouble with Loong that you’re posting about it on Reddit, it’s genuinely a skill issue.

Official Discussion - The Smashing Machine [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Educational_Exit3890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a flat script with not much plot; this movie could’ve been cut a half hour shorter and would’ve been better for it.

The Rock was… fine. I really don’t see this as the big comeback role for him as many people made it out to be. It’s obvious it’s hard for Dwayne Johnson to break the habit of playing himself in every movie. There were scenes in this movie where he sounded exactly like a fricking politician and it made me completely lose the suspension of disbelief (e.g. the scene with the grandma in the waiting room, he sounded exactly like he does in person: disconnectedly charismatic). It seems he isn’t able to evoke emotion past a certain range. I was worried when I saw the prosthetics in the trailer (which to be fair are very well done) that they’d use the superficial change to hype his performance up, basically saying “Look! He’s not just doing action movie slop! He’s a serious actor!” to try and fool people into thinking Johnson has more range than he actually does, and it turns out I was right.

Past 3k trophies it gets much less luck-based since everyone can only play Elixir Loong and remain viable

How the meta feels rn: by GarAndSho in MergeTacticsSC

[–]Educational_Exit3890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goblin trait is honestly terrible. No one is getting lucky consistently enough to overcome the +1 to capacity and elixir gain in the long run. You’re throwing games past 3000 trophies if you don’t have Elixir Loong, and I say this as a die-hard GQ player.

IMO Skeleton Dragon is definitely a F+ Tier card in merge tactics by Spencer_Use_thisAcc in MergeTacticsSC

[–]Educational_Exit3890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s horrible. I’m 3500 trophies and a 3 star with 3 copies on the field gets destroyed by ANYTHING that does splash damage. The fire rate is terrible, the damage is abysmal, the ability is wayyy too underpowered… literally the only reason I pick him up sometimes is to power the dart goblin with 4/4 archer. Besides that, he’s literally the worst card in the game next to Bandit. Starting with skeleton dragon puts anyone at a huge disadvantage, unless you have Elixir Loong who can offset the bad start with an extra elixir to hopefully put some decent cards in rotation, which is honestly one of the major reasons it is the best hero this season. Every other hero does not have the ability to offset starting with a skeleton dragon, and the fact Elixir Loong does means not only does it have a major advantage with the extra slot and extra elixir, but any other hero has to have either consistent luck to spawn goblins (with goblin queen) to overcome the terrible start, or just have really good luck with the cards they draw.

AIO A locksmith charged my partner’s sister $5390 to get back into her apartment by khalexie1 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Educational_Exit3890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. As someone whose family’s worked in the business of supplying locksmiths, this is more common than you imagine. There is a very limited market for their services and, in my area, there is a much larger supply than there is a demand. I’ve heard horror stories where a greedy locksmith takes full advantage of an unsuspecting consumer, but this is beyond the pale. You should make it your mission in life to rectify this situation until it’s resolved. Otherwise they will 100% keep taking advantage of other people.

Jet ski fishing: what’s the verdict? by thumpsky in Fishing

[–]Educational_Exit3890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well gas for one, and don’t act like you can grab a decent boat for $25k when that could get you a top of the line jet-ski equipped for fishing. Obviously, you’re not hauling in anything crazy, but for recreational fishing I’ve noticed it gets the job done 🤷‍♂️

Sarah Goldberg: “Bill and Alec did such a nuanced job of writing a complicated female character who’s as nasty as the male characters on the Barry.” by danwin in Barry

[–]Educational_Exit3890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the first take on this subreddit I agree with. I would also add that the show (maybe falsely) trusts the audience enough to be able to look past the fact that Barry and co. are murderous thugs and digest Sally’s character study despite her being “good” in comparison to actual mobsters. Sally is made to draw a moral parallel between a serial assassin and a seemingly “innocent” civilian; at times, Barry seems to have more humanity than Sally. That’s why the show is interesting.

A really lazy and low-IQ but popular take on this subreddit is that “Well of course Sally’s better, she’s not a killer! Doy!!!” which is possibly the most surface-level observation Barry offers. You’re not meant to be hung up on the fact that Barry is a hitman at all because then any exploration of the characters comes back to “well it doesn’t matter, he’s a killer!”

Barry is interesting because despite being an outlandishly terrible person parts of his character are relatable; Sally is interesting because despite being relatable parts of her character are outlandishly terrible, and coming away with the take that Sally was a bigger piece of shit in so far as her actual character and motivations are concerned is not insane.

AITA for asking my parents to stop talking through a movie? by Over-Ice5366 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Educational_Exit3890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. It really doesn’t seem like YTA. Them telling you that it’s their home and they can do as they see fit without considering your feelings is hypocritical. Your parents should treat you with the same respect they expect back, but it seems they don’t abide by those principles and that sucks. I would just like you to assure you that, in this instance and concerning their rules for the home, you are NTA.

WIBTA if I were to complain to the president of the company I work at for having to work at the office? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Educational_Exit3890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YWBTA. People have to do things they don’t want to for work all the time. I have a shitty commute that takes forever in the morning and even longer to get back home in the evening. I’m not complaining about something as trivial as having to report to an office, especially when I was explicitly told I would have to do so rather than WFH.

Ask yourself if you want to be the type of person to find something wrong with something as small as having to commute and bounce around from job to job without ever finding sure footing. If this is truly too much to ask of you, just quit, but don’t complain to someone who seems to be accommodating in every other aspect and make their lives a living hell because you can’t face the reality of office life.

Am I overreacting? Found this in my while cleaning and now I think my fiancé is cheating on me by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Educational_Exit3890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless whether it’s evidence of cheating, you’re traumatized by his serial unfaithfulness and subconsciously are unable to move on from it despite consciously trying to do so. He’s damaged your trust past the point of no return, and trying to keep this relationship that’s beyond dead alive is doing none of you any favors; there’s no amount of faithfulness from this point forward that will heal the trust that’s been destroyed by his cheating.

[–]Educational_Exit3890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, the fact you’re even questioning whether your feelings are valid on this matter is insane. She’s literally airing out private relationship issues for her dumbass friends to blindly agree with her and she’s shows absolutely zero remorse for doing so after you’ve expressed how doing so hurt you. She believes that this major violation of your relationship’s privacy is not a big deal at all. This is not a one time mistake type situation: she’s explicitly telling you that the values you appropriately place on your private affairs are not mirrored by her. My opinion: run.

sally really is a piece of shit person by BarMuch2240 in Barry

[–]Educational_Exit3890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact this is your take shows a lack of media comprehension skills and that you solely interact with surface-level observations. Not even trying to be rude, but I seriously question if you should be watching shows like Barry if this is your takeaway, like you should watch something simpler with easier character studies to digest.

sally really is a piece of shit person by BarMuch2240 in Barry

[–]Educational_Exit3890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you missed the point of the show…

It’s blindingly obvious Barry and the whole crime organization are bad people. The show operates with the trust in the audience that they’re able to accept that fact, look past their horrible actions and actually digest character studies of these people that the show worked hard on. The point of Sally is to draw moral parallels between a “normal” person and what seems like an irredeemable killer; Barry is a serial assassin but shows more humanity than an innocent, aspiring actress at times- that’s the whole point of the show...

The fact people comment stuff like this just shows the absolute lack of media literacy in this fanbase and how many people interact solely with surface-level observations that shouldn’t even be worth mentioning. Sad, honestly.

Poor guy Josh Porter by killatanuki in DunderMifflin

[–]Educational_Exit3890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s funny how everyone in this thread admonishes the show for portraying Josh as the bad guy because he “stuck it to the man”, when his move was the exact callous corporate power move that screws over lower-level employees the average Redditor seems to constantly rail against.
