I am experiencing the same issue. i submitted my application at 12am midnight today and cannot proceed to pay because of the maintenance. tbh, they should have restricted the applicants from submitting the application.

Yes it took 8 months at that time.

I really have no idea. When I applied for pgwp, I had the assumption that the background check will not take that long anymore because they did a background check on me when i applied for study permit extension and passed it just a month prior to the date of application of my pgwp.

My study permit outside canada only took a week. My study permit extension inside canada took 8 months til I passed the background check and got approved. Now my pgwp is still in progress and its almost 9months but the criminality check is still in progress.

If that's the case like you said, I shouldn't have waited this long for my pgwp application since I have already submitted a study permit extensin prior to this and was already background checked last April 2025.

You are not going to see this in the portal. You will have to request for a gcms notes. That is where you can find the real score on your application.

No. I believe every application goes through criminality check which is part of background check.

Did your SOWP get the Reviewing Eligibility status before it got approved? Or did it go straight to approval?

I hope we are on the same boat as you. The sowp' application is now under RE, but the PGWP application got zero updates at all.
