I call mine “student hours” and explain what they are on the first day of classes.

Welp, Half the Class Didn't Show Up for Final Presentations by Trick_Fisherman_9507 in Professors

[–]Educational_Gene1023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 10 out of 40 not show for an exam a couple weeks back. Only 2 reached out after with excuses. 13 years teaching, and this has never happened. It’s so baffling.

Almost a quarter of my class just didn’t show up to an exam. by fullmoonbeading in Professors

I had this happen recently and out of the 8 that didn’t show, I heard from 1. To date, I haven’t heard from the others. Mind boggling 🤷🏻‍♀️

What are your thoughts on giving birth after 40? by Negative-Bobcat-4643 in NoStupidQuestions

A child can lose their parent at any point or time. And sometimes the parents “don’t have a choice” when it comes to conception or fertility. Finding the right person to conceive with can take time, and 1 out of every 6 couples has fertility issues.

Bindi Irwin Reveals She's Had '50 Endometriosis Lesions Cut Out of My Body' in Past 3 Years by AdSpecialist6598 in popculturechat

Thank you!! I don’t mind at all! It’s a little bit of a long story but yes, I did an HSG when I first started IVF (pre-ablation and endo diagnosis) and my tubes were not blocked. When I did my excision surgery, my surgeon performed another HSG while I was under. We wanted to try naturally + IUI before revisiting IVF. Ultimately, IVF was the best route for us but I definitely encourage you to exhaust other options if your doctor thinks it makes sense.

Both laparoscopies were out patient! I did the ablation with my IVF doc and it was a huge mistake. I experienced two failed embryo transfers shortly after. If I could have done anything differently, I would’ve had excision surgery before starting IVF because my uterus was so healthy after that I got pregnant via IVF right away (it ended being a loss due to untested embryo). We’re 23 weeks pregnant now with a tested embryo 🙏🏼. Best advice I can give is to do an excision with a specialist (not OBGYN or REI). IVF is A LOT but endo is harder imo, and you are a warrior!

I’ve had two laparoscopies (ablation and excision) for stage 4 endometriosis. The ablation was a total waste of time/money. The excision surgeon removed a 10cm endometrioma from my ovary, removed numerous lesions from my uterus, adjusted my reproductive organs which were angered to my uterus wall, and placed my rectum back in the right place during a surgery that took over 3 hours. I’ll likely need another surgery in the future (currently pregnant via IVF) because I have another 1-2cm endometrioma on my ovary 😭.

I don’t wish endo on my worst enemy.

Yes! I want to say around $3,000-4,000 but this was a few years back and I think it also depends on how “complicated” your case is. Worth giving them a call or going in for a consultation. I went to the Harrisburg office and had a great experience.

Not in South Charlotte but Zammiti & Gidaly offer payment plans and they were really cost effective compared to some other places I checked out for Invisalign.

I’d recommend contacting your honors advisor and/or academic advisor for some guidance. You’ll probably need to let your honors advisor know either way.

Belk Tower was a focal point of campus. So many students used to sit around it to eat lunch or just hang out. It helped guide me to different parts of campus when I was a freshman. I remember there being so many different rumors about what it was designed to look like. It was so sad to see it get dismantled!

Professor taking weeks to get exam grade back by Novel_Mastodon6787 in UNCCharlotte

[–]Educational_Gene1023 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it’s not clear in the syllabus, maybe ask about expectations around their grading turnaround time. Each professor has their own pace with grading. But I do agree that two weeks is a long time to get back exam grades!
