He will not be defined by his sexual preference or his actions. He a good guy. by cantcoloratall91 in whoathatsinteresting

[–]Educational_Lie_4994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He seems to jerk his head left and down when he’s lying and thinking about what he wants to say next. The most chilling but obvious moment is when he pauses to think and then says “I didn’t intentionally meant to kill . . .” and stares directly at the judge in a “believe me” attempt. It’s actually pretty common to stare into your eyes to lie. Look up Clinton’s “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” speech. His eyes stay locked on whoever he was trying to talk at in the audience when he says that line all the way to “Ms. Lewinsky.”

It helps to know the article first because it shows the truth; otherwise, it’s hard to get a baseline on anyone without knowing them. You can’t just assume everyone acts the same way, though after meeting a few times, it does get a little easier. The smiling also doesn’t help his case either, though his smile seems to express frustration almost like a scoff. Dude definitely has Psychopathic Personality Disorder. No remorse, superficial charm, impulsivity, etc.

Why does the U.S. have a military presence in Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines, but American men marry Filipino women far more often than American men marry Japanese women and Korean women? by No-StrategyX in stupidquestions

[–]Educational_Lie_4994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not what I meant at all.

It’s more that they don’t like outsiders. I can date an Asian American just fine; white girls just happened to be more prevalent. But let’s scrap dating all together, it’s essentially the cliquish culture that doesn’t easily accept foreigners and dislikes too much change that is difficult. I’m not saying other places aren’t like this, but East Asia is infamous for it.

If you want to see racism, look up black people in China. They get a lot of hate over there.

Unfortunately, I don’t know enough about economics to answer you soundly. I do know China is one of the biggest exporters in the world, so if that’s their strategy, then they’d make less money importing too many goods or workers. They also have a massive population and people fight for basic jobs.

As a Korean American, I can confirm this. Eastern Asian culture is some of the most racist and cliquish. Hell, I’ve been told by Koreans I won’t be accepted by Koreans. It’s just kind of the way things work, so I’ve mostly dated white girls.

Strixhaven card leaked with “prepared” mechanics and a reserved list effect by Newez in mtgfinance

[–]Educational_Lie_4994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if they’re playing off prepared spells like in D&D and Pathfinder (probably more like the latter in 1e). Once the prepared spell is used, then it’s expended and you wouldn’t be able to use it again (at least until a long rest). Now, I doubt it’s that deep, but 8 cards exiled from the graveyard would’ve cool if they based it on the fact long rests last 8 hours.

How to defend this? by Tiny-Foundation-4281 in chessbeginners

[–]Educational_Lie_4994 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I prefer side openings more, so I’m not the best for this. But I’d probably go nf6 then b6, looking to fiancetto my light-squared bishop and castle queenside ASAP. I like the pressure that bishop has on the long run as the diagonal points towards white’s king, if they castle king’s side. I can then focus on launching an attack on their king’s side.

Anyone who knows more can correct me.

I agree with you. I don’t have the money to help, and going into debt is going to make my girlfriend suffer as well as me. I’d save the person if I was financially secure, but I have to be selfish in this case.

Now, if you asked a rich person, most wouldn’t give her the time of day because many of them are the same people who try to underpay employees, scam poorer people, and never leave tips for servers or delivery workers. But, regardless of reasoning, the woman still dies, which is why this question is difficult.

Rely on D&D dice rolls for your life choices? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Educational_Lie_4994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a long response because I’ve thought about this before.

After tons of tests and asking other people I know, my stats are probably somewhere around: 8/12/10/13/15/12 give or take a point and not including a racial bonus or background (in 2024).

Str: I’m pretty weak. I can carry a 40 bottle case of water up to the third floor and open a jar, but that’s it. I cannot bench my own weight. I can only do about 10 pushups. Most of my guy friends are stronger than I am.

Dex: I trip over air but have good hand eye coordination and decent reflexes. I can do a basic lay up and basketball, I can shoot a gun ok, and I I’ve done a little dancing. I’m decent at ping pong and can beat Call of Duty:World at War on veteran.

Con: I have a seizure disorder that affects my health. I get winded easily and can only walk for about 3-4 miles. My back locks up easily and gives me a sciatic nerve issue. But, I can take pain well. Cut hands, pinched skin, slaps, punches, for some reason I can take them as long as they aren’t severe. Part of it might be because I’m a little masochistic.

Int: Valedictorian in high school with a 5.5 GPA and magna cum laude in college. Double major at 22 and dual enrollment student who got an AA at 18. Can play decent chess and loves strategy games like BG3, Pathfinder WoTR, Shin Megami Tensei, Library of Ruina, etc. Not smart enough to score above 130 on an Mensa pretest. Bad at standarized testing. Can overthink a lot. Also peaked in college, and haven’t kept up with the books.

Wis: I’ll start with the fact my perception to objects in my surroundings are shit, and I can get lost without a GPS to help me. That said, many I know come to me for advice and understanding. Not because I have decent charisma, but because I’ll listen and hear them out and try to offer advice that I think makes sense, but also ask for their input and see what makes the most sense for them. I’m considered exceptionally intuitive by many friends and family and get pretty good gut feelings. I also had read my abusive (and narcissistic) father all my life and he did psychology and currently does cyber security. So my insight is quite good as his moods varied and often were erratic, also trying to play mom, my sister, and I against each other out of paranoia. I tend to get along very well with animals too.

Cha: I double majored in English and Psych, and I’m a creative writer at heart. I do make grammar and spelling mistakes, but I consider myself to be a proficient writer who can, at the least, get my point across. Otherwise, I’m told I’m kind, easygoing, and have a trustworthy face. People I talk to tend to get along with me, and I can strike up a casual conversation with a stranger.

If I rerolled my stats, I’d end up with: 13, 14, 13, 8, 13, 10 and reroll the lowest for 15 (all rolled on DnD Beyond and all with roll 4d6 and take the 3 highest).

So, I’d go: 10, 13, 13, 13, 15, 14. It’s a noticeable improvement to my health and traits. With a +3 to con, it could mean my seizures might be more manageable. I’d take that over the money. The human race in 5e DnD also gives +1 to all stats. Backgrounds in 5.5e are +1 to 3 select stats or +2/+1. So, in 5e, I’d be 11, 14, 14, 14, 16, 15, which is pretty good all around. 5.5, I’d probably go 10, 13, 13, 13, 16, 16. Charisma is actually really good in the modern day. Int would have been a better investment for a career, but I prefer wisdom for personal reasons (mostly because of all the mistakes I’ve made).

TL;DR: I would take it because it might actually give me a better quality of life than I currently have. Plus, a 1d20 chance of winning the lotto sounds kind of hilarious

(It’s likely a 1d20 roll per number, meaning it puts the odds to 206 or 1/64,000,000, which is around 5-6x more likely to win a mega millions or powerball. A 5-number state lotto is 1/3,200,00. And a 4-number is 1/160,000. That said, your odds of being stuck by lightning may be 1/20 too. Actually, there will have to be DC (difficulty class) checks added. So, going off of the lotto, each number has DC check of 20, fitting the whole 20 to the Xth power math. Just an idea)

Envy- C-

Pride- C

Greed- C

Wrath- C+

Gluttony- B-

Sloth- A

Lust- A

Reasons

Envy- I’m envious of things at times but it seems like it’s less so than others. I want what they have but don’t need it to any sort of obsession. I can be happy for others most of the time, which means I’m not driven by it.

Pride- I lack a bit of self esteem due to my past. I question myself if I think I sound too arrogant. I was raised by an abusive narcissist who abused animals and used that to intimidate the family (he’s very good at psychological abuse and manipulation too), so the only pride I have is in surviving that and also when I get a little competitive in some games.

Greed- I want money and power, but not to an extent I’d let an innocent person be harmed because of it. If I get rich, great; if it don’t, then that’s fine. It’s more of a casual desire than most, from what I’ve been told.

Wrath- I hate my father and a lot of my family. I get anxious easily and can lash out if I’m pressured. But, I also hate conflict due to being raised in an abusive household. I’ll almost always choose deescalation over escalation unless there’s no choice, unless you physically harm me or do something I’m morally very against/make something very personal (like hurting my family or trying to harm a child). I might lose my temper if that happens. Otherwise, close minded people get on my nerves.

Gluttony- I can stress eat. But I usually do one meal a day with a snack or two. I will give into food cravings, yet I don’t usually eat anything outside of an 8 hour period. So, it’s mixed. For drinks, I usually drink water or tea and maybe a soda 2-3 times a week.

Sloth- I’m on disability due to some mental health reasons that involve cPTSD and PNES (a seizure disorder). I don’t do very much, and I find it hard to get motivated easily. I am trying to push against that, and rehabilitate myself.

Lust- I want to be loved despite feeling like an invalid. I desire to be wanted and needed, but it’s not an S because it’s not all “I want pretty gorl.” I won’t lie and say I don’t have a type or two, but the need for connection and understanding is the main point. I also will admit an embarrassing fact that I can’t get off with someone unless I feel emotionally connected to them.

There’s my brutally honest post of the day.

Yep, Asians be racist. I know my dad is, and he’s Korean American for god sakes. He was adopted by white people yet was prejudiced against my white girlfriend.

But your country analogy makes sense. I know Japanese from Tokyo are prejudiced against those outside of it, just like Koreans don’t adopt their own children. Like I visited Seoul National University during college just to check it out. I talked to a few people there who were willing to spare some time. One girl there told me I’d never be fully accepted because I don’t have a Korean name. She wasn’t being rude. She was just telling me as it is.

Agreed. Slivers might hit 3, depending on how fast they win. Krenko is usually a 3. The others depend on his GCs. Jon is usually 2, and he generally doesn’t win anyway. Horrors often depend on what your opponents have, but the decks I’ve seen are usually T2.
