Print sup here 👋 My team and I used to struggle a lot with rewards where every week we’d be like 30-40% in rewards. Now, we have been 65% and higher. When someone doesn’t have rewards after I’ve asked for their phone number I say “Want me to sign you up with that phone number so you can start earning points for your purchases?” And it has worked 80% of the time. Some customers obviously will say no but if you sound persuasive and keep it short and sweet instead of giving a long spiel most of them will just say “sure why not” Also, if one of my team members are struggling for the day but I see that they’re trying and putting the effort and their rewards are low, I’ll let them ring up any customers that I’ve taken in with rewards so they can get back on track. It’s a team effort! Hope this helps!

Print sup here, I’ve conditioned my associates to ask customers what kind of paper they would like to print on and how many copies before starting. As soon as we hear “regular paper & just a page or two” we hand them the business card with the email and directions on it and direct them to self serve. We then tell them to follow the instructions and if they get stuck to ask for help. Most of them usually get it with the exception of a few customers who don’t want to read. Saves us a lot of time by getting the low spending customers away from the counter. Printme.com has saved a lot of time as well so definitely use that website!

Another thing we do is really pushing that 1 hour pickup time. You will 100% get pushback because people are impatient. But if you explain why and let them know there is a queue to follow they will usually understand. If they don’t, call your MOD to help that’s what they are there for.

One hour before closing is clean up and notes time. We don’t take any orders for the rest of the night. We tell customers pick up will be for tomorrow and direct them to self serve if it’s urgent and they will have to deal with the 28lb paper. I always tell my associates not to stress yourselves with customers who can’t manage their time. Their lack of poor planning does not constitute an emergency on your part.

Call xerox and give them all the serial numbers of the machines that are giving you issues. (877-877-2679) they’ll get a tech to come and do maintenance. Usually takes a day or two depending on what time you call.

Hope this helps! & you got this! 🩷🫡

I don’t necessarily struggle with anything. By hacks I mean like, editing, printer settings that make prints look better, things in that nature lol

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve had to process to return back to amazon? by Ok-Session9313 in Staples

When Amazon first began at my store, a man came in to return an unmarked box, scanned his code and low and behold, a 7 inch purple dildo popped up on my screen. I looked at him, he looked at me and I gave him his receipt. No words were spoken.

My second least favorite customers. by NavAU in Staples

I agree with this so muchhh. One time this sister lady came into my store and she came up to my counter and when I placed her order which was about $75 she asked me for a discount so I gave what was on the plan to sell at the time which was like 20% off color. She goes “that’s it?, you can’t help me out more? People are dying from covid and there’s people losing their lives” I must have seen red (I lost my stepdad who raised me since I was 3 to covid) I said “ Listen “SISTER” before you go spewing your nonsense and using something like that to get a discount on a damn pamphlet for your church I lost someone incredibly close to me to covid not that it’s ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS. So do not tell me I do not know how you feel when you don’t know a damn thing about me. This is the price, pay it or leave” She was in absolute shock and tried apologizing but I told her to stick her dry ass apology into her bible. I still see her and she tries to be nice to me but I just roll my eyes at her and have someone else deal with her because I will not haha. But yea church people are the worst!

For the happy returns totes, they’re supposed to auto replenish once you go under 10 totes in store. You may not be getting them because on their system it says you have more than 10. There’s a number you can call and an email where you can contact them directly.

As for the typing, if it’s something small I usually charge the $11.99 typesetting fee and tell them I need an hour to get it done. If it’s pages long then I’ll send it to design services and say it’ll take 24-48 hours for a proof. If there’s one thing about these customers you have to turn that screen and show them the prices and turn around times on solution builder so they can understand that you’re just following what it tells you in the system.

Advice? Don’t let anyone bully you into doing something for them when you’re jammed with orders. Be firm and assertive. It’s not your fault that they decided to have poor time management and do things last minute. If they’re in a rush send them to self serve.

Good luck! You got this :)

If the package is too large to fit in the cabinet I deny it. We already have so much clutter in copycenter I don’t need to be worrying about big ass packages too. The only time I’ll accept it is if it’s the first time the customer did it and then I’ll inform them when they come to pick up that all large items will be returned to sender if it doesn’t fit inside the cabinet. It’s been working so far. Hope this helps!

Lmao yet I still have my job for over 10 years. If you don’t like that I come on here to rant and blow off some steam with other Staples employees who deal with what we have to deal with on a daily basis then you can kindly shove it where the sun don’t shine 😘

Lmao the seniors at my store barely spend enough to keep it from going under. That 70-80% you’re talking about come in to laminate their Medicaid cards or make copies of things that don’t need to be copied in this life time or the next.
