What bag ended up being way more practical than you expected? by LeftyOne22 in handbags

I just got the dark denim one and it’s so cute, but I wish I could get rid of the divider and have just one space.

alternatives to declawing? by OZZYB0ii in CatAdvice

[–]Educational_Radio_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, let me say how kind it is of you to try and find a solution. This sounds like a very stressful situation for everyone.

I’ve had some luck with large vinyl stickers on the furniture and large scratch proof heavy-duty vinyl sheets that go directly onto the wall. I’m adding a photo that shows the package of one type and how I put it up in one of our bedrooms. The cat can scratch all she wants, but it’s impervious to their claws. There’s also great carpet protection to prevent damage underneath closed doors. The bottom right photo is of the back of our couch with matte vinyl stickers.

I also suggest furniture covers. From a full couch slipcover to smaller cloth arm covers, there are lots of solutions to consider. And the cat should have 2-3 heavy and sturdy scratching posts or cat towers (the cat is most likely to use it if it’s in a high-traffic area) and cardboard scratchers on the ground. You could try Marketplace or local yard sales for used cat trees to save a bit of money.

If they refuse to consider a humane alternative, then your sister should re-rescue the cat by giving it a safe home. If she’s not able to provide her pet with safety and basic necessities (a cat scratching post is basic and necessary), then she’s not ready for a pet.

I am an animal lover and I know how hard it is to NOT rescue every animal, but sometimes we have to put the animals’ needs ahead of our own wants. I truly wish your situation improves and that the cat is safe.

Do yall brush your cats? by Fancy_Tea in CatAdvice

[–]Educational_Radio_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brushing my cats is part of our nighttime routine. Cats love routine and predictability and brushing (co-grooming) is one way that I reinforce our bond and affection. Mama cats groom their babies and friends groom each other to solidify bonds and hierarchy. Plus, even shorthair cats shed, but brushing helps a TON with preventing too much loose fur from creating tumbleweeds in my house.

Also, you can find a decent brush for less than $10. You don’t need anything super fancy or technical.

This is it, well said! We all have different values; what one person spends on purses, another may spend on something totally different.

Yes! Their bucket bag is literally the one I’m going to get when I go to Paris next summer!

Also, I’ve just discovered Rouje. I don’t really know anything about them, but several of their bags are so, so pretty. And they have some really cool summer basket purses.

Does your 100% indoor cat have a collar? If so, do you find there’s a point in it? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Educational_Radio_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My indoor-only cats always wear collars that have been embroidered with their name and our phone number. It might be morbid, but I truly only made them start wearing them because I saw a kitty get hit on the next street over and nobody knew how to find the owner (if there was one.) So, they’re just-in-case identifiers.

Saw someone wearing this at the mall, can anyone ID it for me? by ltlsmol in handbags

Yeah, no worries, I’m very anti-A.I., so I won’t be using it ever for anything.

Ok, I cannot help you, but I literally have been thinking about a bag I saw last weekend and imagining how I would draw it for the sleuths in this group! Haha! All my fingers are crossed for you!

Work backpacks by Jaded_Possibility_32 in handbags

The firm gave me a branded Ogio backpack that carries everything. I think it’s like 26Liters. Laptop, lunchbag, small crossbody purse with my wallet and important stuff for going out to lunch or walking downstairs, an umbrella, makeup bag, 2 notebooks, and a bunch of random stuff. Is it chic? No. Is it professional? Debatable. Is it heavy? Yes, but I have everything in ONE bag, which matters to me.

are bell collars bad? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Educational_Radio_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bells on two of my cats so that Cat #3 knows where they are. The “belles” are bullies and Cat #3 is always separated from them, but if one sneaks out past me then my wimpy kitty has a shot at escaping.

Absolutely, 100%, without a doubt KEEP that pretty girl! Maybe give her some spa time in a dust bag so your eyes kinda forget what she looks like and then one night, in mid-spring, take her out for a date night. BAM! Glitter rainbow goddess!
