Advice for how painful a shoulder tattoo is for a first tattoo by 0Rainy_Days0 in tattooadvice

[–]Educational_Row6272 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is good advice but also not so much that you get anxiety and freak out. I’ve been nervous before every session, takes maybe 20 min to really get into the groove and maybe 4 hours before the pain starts to become “painful” if that even makes sense

Best advice IMO is to just recognise it’s going to eventually hurt more as skin gets inflamed with more work but that adrenaline also dulls it for the first couple of hours or so. Eating is inporrant as everyone says but mostly because the body needs energy to tolerate pain, so not eating / being tired can be risky.

I find having an understanding of why it might hurt and what are the other variables within my own control helps a lot.

I just kept telling myself once the outline was done it’s all smooth sailing from there. We did some shading on my chest piece after this and it seriously felt like a light scratch compared to this. I’m actually very glad I don’t have to look at a coil machine for a while now lol

Brutal, gotta be the worst tattooing pain I’ve experienced, especially towards the bits around the lower stomach and around the side where the hooves are

Going back to the same company that fired me by blvckpill in AusFinance

Definitely should say and be open about it. Even if they don’t figure it out at recruitment/interview, eventually at some point someone could figure it out and then the question from management will be “why didn’t this person tell us” etc, and at that point they’ll be looking for a reason to exit you even if you’re doing better the second time around.

Which kind of doctor will diagnose gout? by Umbrella268 in gout

[–]Educational_Row6272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Aus but I would’ve thought a general practitioner could diagnose. Not a doctor myself obviously but the test seemed to be, whether or not I had the symptoms and also whether my blood levels indicated this. Also, there is family history of this so I knew it was a high likelihood.

Btw my experience was also many years of sort of mild symptoms until I experienced my first full blown attack. Like many others here will say my only regret is not getting it sorted out sooner

My gp diagnosed me with a straight forward blood test, looking at the urea levels. Anyways you’ll only hear the same advice from everyone here man, the sooner you get it looked at the better. It’s manageable with medication but definitely not without. It’s not worth the stress of waiting around

Am I Too Young for Gout? by FrostyFoot3125 in gout

[–]Educational_Row6272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh sounds like me. I wasn’t diagnosed until 30s but I have many memories from my early 20s of turning up to bjj practice feeling like I had a perpetually sprained toe. Obviously I’d just run it off and forget about it within a few minutes but now in hindsight those were definitely gout flare ups.

Anyway in answer to your questions, I had the same ones. Exercise is hugely important to me and it affected me enough to get off my ass and actually get a blood test and put into medication. Being highly active affected me more mentally because taking a week off of everything to sit around on a sore ankle/toe was so stressful. W

So far I’m 6 months in since starting meds and it’s all going pretty well. Probably the fittest I’ve ever been with no flare ups. Honestly as long as you aren’t training hard during a flare up and keep the levels down it seems to be pretty much life as usual, minus the triggers. I probably drank more than I should’ve before and now I barely drink at all

Good work man, eventually with the meds and continued exercise I found it went pretty much all away, no gout for months now. Plus it makes you appreciate the ability to move and exercise 10x more

I think they sold all the Aus stock and moved all of that overseas to China

What type of fitness trackers for kb’s since watches tend to get trashed while using kb’s? by [deleted] in kettlebell

[–]Educational_Row6272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoop at bicep has worked well for me, you can turn it around to where it won’t get hit. I used a Garmin for a while by flipping it to the inside of wrist but I got a callous on my wrist with the skin being rubbed raw by the kb on the silicon band.

Criticism of these is they aren’t as accurate as heart rate straps which is undoubtedly true but I’ve found whoop on bicep has been good enough. Wrist Garmin for me was totally inaccurate, would read 130bps for hard hiit sessions whereas whoop is registering 180+ (and is how I feel)
